Bug Reports and Technical Issues

No, but soundtracks might not either, I am not sure right now.

That was it. Drat.
Yeah, unfortunately the longer I go without a release the more modules becomes incompatible. I will make everything compatible again with the next release.

Hello everyone friends! Happen this problem. The next turn flies with an error on the desktop. I play last develop version download from github without mods.
Okay, noted. There is a known crash that is top priority for me right now, I just don't have much time to work on the problem at the moment. Let's hope this has the same cause.

There is a problem with slavery that may compromise the Brazilian UHV. There are two ways to get slaves so far: First, is by enslaving units in Africa or the Americas, this happens only once in a while in Africa, but never in Brazil. The second alternative is trading with Congo, who are reluctant to trade slaves unless they are your vassals.

I can also confirm about this crash that happens a random few turns into the game. First, I played as Spain and then Mexico in the 1700 AD scenario, and then as Portugal then switching to Brazil and both were fine. However, I tried with Prussia and Spain later and the game crashes to desktop a few turns in, somewhere between 1760 and 1790 AD.

Can you give me a save where Congo is reluctant to trade? I also noticed that, but a concrete scenario would help me track down which part of the AI is causing that.

Congo is usually much more reluctant to trade slaves than say Mexico/Aztecs, just my two eurocents.

Thank you.

I tested the 3000 BC scenario and it works fine, the 600 AD one is as it was unavailable, and I have suspicions that the 1700 AD bug might have to do with World Congress.

My brother played the mod and was playing as the Phoenicians, now he wasn't, as more playing for fun and not testing but reported that the Moors were unable to take over his city build 1 spot west of their spawn spot. Then were pushed out as the culture borders restored the next turn into portugal and eventually build lisbon there...

I have had the same issue with building Birka 1 spot south to London building on the same spot it did get wrecked. So seems building a city (as a player) 1 spot next to a spawn of a new civilization, doesn't make it get taken over (or wrecked). Confirmed to more then 1 civilization, I gonna test a third civ see if it happens there too.

I pressed next turn three times in this saves, no crash.

Alright so I updated to the newest git version, the one with the changes as to how slavery works? In my latest game as France, started using this version, I get a reproduceable crash two turns after this autosave. Not sure if it's even related to the latest changes, but it might just be so, seeing how it's so soon after the Mande spawn.

Edit: I can only say it's a CtD as I might still have Python messages turned off.
Fixed with the latest develop commit.

Another question concerning Git: Is it possible to have several versions of a mod installed? With the .ini name being important and that it matches the folder name, it should be impossible unless you run another instance of BtS, but maybe there's something obvious I'm not seeing? Would be nice to have both 1.14.5 and the development mod next to it ;)

Edit: maybe using "create branch"?

Edit2: nm this one

Edit 3: Ha! I already HAVE GOT both branches installed and can switch easily! :borg:

I just tried again and yes,the 600 AD scenario is still not working.
Okay, I looked into this and had the same problem when downloading the mod as a zip file. The reason is that the scenario file is encoded for Unix instead of Windows. It seems to be a consequence of either how Github archives stuff or how your local tool unpacks the file, since it is different from how it looks to me in git itself.

You can fix this as follows: get Notepad++ and open the scenario file (right click + "edit with Notepad++"), then select Edit -> EOL Conversion -> Windows.

I'll also update the troubleshooting section with this info, because I think someone else already ran into the same problem.

So what about this Colonialism - exploding commerce in capital - thing in 1.14.5? Was it ever fixed? Coz I got a savegame where the game crashed due to some exploding-commerce related bug ... during autosave??
