Bug Reports and Technical Issues

There's a bug in the current Github version, appears to be merge conflict in Assets/XML/Text/Buildings.xml (line 398), presumably from merging the pull request from Merijn about the language tags. Causes some building names to be replaced with TXT_KEY_WHATEVER_BUILDING_IT_IS.

I tried to play as Iran. The starting techs and UHVs were exactly the same as Ancient Persia.
I've actually tested this as well in the 3000BC scenario, the civ reborn mechanic seems to be currently broken in the latest git. Persia does not respawn as Iran in 1500AD, but as Persia, with the Persian flag and Immortal UU. The UHV objectives display the descriptions for those of Persia, but their checkmarks and milestones are those of Iran.

Hi, I'm trying to download the new map development branches. I'm following the steps shown here, but when I right click on my RFC DoC Folder and go to "TortoiseGit" to click on "switch/checkout" that option is not there. All I see is settings, help, and about. Before I had already selected on Git Clone for the folder.
What am I missing???

Are you sure the folder you are right clicking actually is a git repository, i.e. originally cloned from Github? These three options show up for me when I right click a normal folder.

So I copied the 1.15 DoC Folder into my desktop, then right clicked, did the Git Clone, waited for it to complete. I assume that's a git repository?
I then right clicked on that folder and get those three options.

You are supposed to right click on an empty area in a directory and then do a git clone. I don't know what clone does when using it on a folder but I suppose it cloned inside the folder you clicked on? You do not need an existing DoC installation to do this.

There is an event that allows the construction of the holy building at Rome if you get the Conquering event for the holy city (maybe only catholicism), even if it already has the holy building. I don't know if selecting that would make the bonus redundant, or duplicate. I picked the option to give me 8 heavy swordsmen.

Hello everybody. I don't know what's going on with my RFC_DoC installation...
I had DoC_1.14 installed and i have played it for a long time. Today i noticed that DoC_1.15 came out. I downloaded v1.15, uninistalled 1.14 and installed 1.15.
But the mod just won't load. If i double click the launch icon of DoC on the Desktop it does nothing and if i start BTS and then try to load the mod the game shuts down.
Anybody can help me understand what's going on?
(Should i make another thread about this?)

It's common for the mod to take a long time to load, especially if you remove and reinstall it. So it might be that the mod is still loading in the background, unfortunately it gives very little indication about that. Check your task manager and see if there is a Civ4BeyondSword.exe process running. You can even try to increase its priority to speed things up a little. If it's not there, let me know. The mod should load faster in subsequent times because Civ4 keeps a cache of some necessary files.

Problem solved, thank you very much.
I would also warn you that if you have another language set in BTS (in my case it was Italian) and you load DOC, you get the Main Menu screen but without anything written on it and you can't navigate or do anything!

I am aware of this issue, and it is basically fixed in the development version for 1.16. However to make it truly playable in Italian we need a complete Italian translation.

Git-development version (Paragon, normal speed):

Bug: Byzantine UHV1 did not check, after passing the appropiate year.

And the Ottomans have 10+ Bombards in a city 2 hexes away from Constantinople. But they only throw suicide Lancers and Janitschares at my 100 % walls. Why did they not use them? Any ideas?

Because I haven't merged K-Mod yet :)

Edit: Of course I will look into the UHV bug.

Do you also have a save from before the check?

Sadly no. The one above was the first save and the autosaves are overwriten(?). Sorry.

I saw the problem only way after the check-turn. I played Byzanz before in 1.15 and never had any bugs.

Okay, I'm not sure I will catch the bug then but I'll review the code again.

By the way, you can configure the number of autosaves the game keeps in the Civ4Config file.
