Bug Reports and Technical Issues

What happens when the Quarry is actually constructed?

Not sure if this has been noticed yet, but on dev branch, it looks like the new SpecialistTypeExtraYields field has its food yield is capped at +1 food in cities, even though the tooltip in the Civic screen correctly displays the +Food in the XML. Production and commerce don't seem to be affected. I wasn't able to trace the root cause in the code unfortunately. I played around with it and even if you set food iYield to a high value, the city screen still caps it at +1.

Example of large number still being capped at 1, but only Food:

You should follow this instruction. Another game will use this new folder too, not only civ4. Taking this opportunity, I want to express my gratitude to Leoreth for this wonderful mod

I'm assuming this was an old restriction that wasn't intended to limit the food yield of Great Statesmen when running Public Welfare?
Right, the limitation is intended for overall specialist modifiers, I think it is fine for individual specialists. I'll look into a fix.

There is 0 :hammers:on this field, so it looks like only worker tooltip error.
I wouldn't call it an error, the tooltip just displays the relative change, with the understanding that no value can be reduced below 0.

Hello!

Vienna for (German UHV3) is on the spot of Linz. Wien is one tile east of it.

Thanks Leoreth for developing this great mod. Best 4X game of all time.

It's not the location that is wrong, it's the name that is wrong. The city name map isn't done yet.

Why with understanding? 1-2=-1, but actually production is decreased to 0, so it doesn't understand that no value can be reduced below 0.

Yields are never negative in Civ IV in any other scenario, so it can be safely assumed yields will never be negative. At worst it's a very low priority issue, especially compared to further developing the Big Map.

The understanding on the part of the player.

If the Holy Roman were to establish a city within the surrounding the location of Berlin and the city happened to become a Protestant holy city during the Reformation, then Prussia's UHV1 would never be able to be completed (Holy city cannot be destroyed,So you even can't establish Berlin)

Not sure if this is a bug or intended gameplay - but it's a real bummer that Spain won't sign OB at friendly. I'm literally at war with the Moors and want to land my army to destroy their last city of Cordoba, but one water tile controlled by Spain is blocking me. I am going to kill their worst enemy but I am going to declare war on them and kill them too just to do it. It also feels extremely ahsitorical that any Mediterranean civ that wants to leave the Mediterranean needs to conquer Spain in order to do so.

Edit to add - I got curious and went back and checked. Spain did not have open borders with anybody. I wonder if this is part of why they have been performing so badly? They have no trade route income, and they can have no war allies against the Moors since the other Europeans can't come help them.

I'm not getting an error message, but I can send you the logging files. Which do you want to see?
Sorry, I just realised that I missed this message earlier. Let's start with the PythonErr.log file.

Ottomans start without a Settler after the last update: is that intended? It will appear the very next turn though...

I am also curious about actual starting year for the "initial" saves. The one attached is labeled as 1270, but loading it lands you at correct Ottoman starting year of 1280.

Hello, I'm playing Japan on the huge map but I can't get past 1808. Every time I end the turn it takes a very long time until eventually all the animations are stopped, the music stops, etc. The globe is still turning though. I can't do anything and can't even get it to close with Alt-F4. Ctrl+Alt+Delete and opening Task Manager works but if I Alt+Tab out the globe is still the cursor so I can't click anything, and then can't go back to the Civ window either. Trying to close it from the Alt-Tab window doesn't work either. The only way to exit is to Ctrl+Alt+Delete then Sign Out.
I've tried it many times, changing different things to see if it would be different. I changed to another civilization, I tried to autoplay to 1812, I saw there was a big war between Britain and India so I went to the Worldbuilder and deleted all British cities and units in India but nothing worked. I suspect it might have something to do with Mexico or Argentina starting in 1810. I deleted all cities and units in Mexico and Argentina and another time changed the cities there to Mexico and Argentina hoping if they existed already it might work. But no luck.
Here is the save game. I'm on the Git version but only up to the updates before the post you said would break saves. I have the soundtrack module but since it wouldn't work right I had replaced the CIV4GameInfoSchema.xml with the updated one and added the songs from DoCSoundtracks_CIV4EraInfos.xml to CIV4EraInfos.xml and copied it and put it in the Soundtrack module folder, renaming it DoCSoundtracks_CIV4EraInfos. I've had no problems with that besides having to redo that every time I update.
I attached the Python Error log as a txt file.

This won't fix problem with civ4, but you may be able to use task manager when this error happens (not always though).
You can try using Task View

to open New desktop and open task manager here (drag and drop it), then change your desktop to one with task manager.

For me it takes about a minute and then the turn completes.

When I try to start a game it pops up and says "You must provide a game name". I tried reinstalling both civ 4 and the mod and still have the issue. When I start a game in base game and in other mods its working fine.
In the Beyond the Sword folder, there is a _Civ4Config file. What does it say in the GameName entry when you open it. See the highlighted line in the attached screenshot for reference.
