Hi guys! How are you doing. It's a long time since I played CIV V and more particular CPP. As far as I can see it, a lot was going on here since April :)

With the newest version locked and ready to play I am happy that my own tutorial for playing the game in a different language still works! Great because I forgot these steps in the meanwhile.

However, I have a small typing error in: MODS\Community Balance Patch\Balance Changes\Buildings\NewBuildings.xml
there is a squared bracket missing in the description of the Well: [NEWLINE]NEWLINE]City must not be built next to a River.

Yep, I've fixed that, just haven't pushed out a new version yet. Glad it works, and welcome back!

Been unable to get Whoward's raised barb exp limit mod to work. Any ideas?

Go to CoreDefines.sql in CBP.

Code:

Hello,

First time using this mod and let me tell you it has been great so far, I really like it. I am using the mod and the supported mods + R.E.D. Model Pack and I am playing England. I could not build Steam Mills once having the required tech, I even tried getting coal but they would not be available to build from the list (not even greyed out, simply not on the list at all). Sorry I cannot be more specific, maybe it is just a one time bug but it pretty much ruined that one game :(

Disregard, I just did not notice that you needed a Workshop in order to build factories. Great mod :)

I was playing with JFD's cultural diversity mods as well.
 
One of Boudicca's pantheons is severely bugged. It was supposed to give 2 science/faith/gold/GAP per turn per city.

  • when I chose the pantheon, it gave me 24 faith/science/gold/gap
  • when I founded a second city, the yields jumped to 40
  • when I chose a religion, they jumped back to 2 sci/gold/faith/gap, even though I had 3 cities so it should have been 6

Also there is something possibly wrong going on with investing in Wonders/buildings.

In the picture above:
Hard-built Great Library till I had only 3 turns left (out of 25). Removed GL from the queue, invested, added it to the queue, end up having 242/225 production with 1 turn remaining.

Same for me. I think it's intended, not a bug.
 
Following up on my God King post from a couple days ago - been busy (and sick the last couple days).

Was running some other mods in addition to CPP but nothing that should conflict.

Cleared the cache and ran only CPP without EUI. Morocco civilization

Wasn't getting crazy numbers, but math was off - had +1 faith, science, gold and culture with only 2 believers and +2 with 5 believers.

I reloaded a previous auto save and revealed the map with the Live Tuner to check a suspicion:

Morocco and Spain had 7 total followers and Morocco was receiving +1 from religion. Sweden and Babylon founded pantheons and the number of total followers jumped to 19 and Morocco was now getting +3 from religion. Each pantheon only had 4 or 5 followers though.

Pantheons founded were:
Morocco - God-King
Spain - Stone Circles
Sweden - God of the Open Sky
Babylon - Goddess of the Hunt

Will check some of the other mods when I have time to see if they were causing an error.
 
I've noticed that every single AI unit takes the city attack/fortified unit promotion tree. I'm guessing this wasn't intended, or else why have promotion options?

I'd rather see the AI literally choose random promotion combinations. Would be a lot more fun dealing with them unit-to-unit.
 
2 things I encountered when playing with CP(9-18):

1.

2. two or three times now during early - mid game, the AI made some crazy offers for open borders!
they requested open borders (nothing else), and offered
-open borders +
-a luxury ressource +
-18 GPT (not completely sure, but it was a lot)

Until now I haven't seen this anymore in the later game , where they seem to have returned to the usual open borders for open borders + the obligatory 1GPT.


edit: one time they also offered to go to war against another civ + open borders.
It's like they would even trade their capital for free passage if they could! :D
 
I am consistently getting a crash-to-desktop whenever I am trading with a civilization and clicking the "What do you have in mind?" type buttons. This crash only seems to happen when I select their item and ask them what they want for it, NOT when I ask them what they want to offer for my goods.

Using the latest, full package: CP, CBP, Civ IV Diplo, CSD, More Luxuries, and the compatibility files. (no EUI)

First time this happened I did a clean reinstall of the game and all mods, but the latest versions did not seem to fix this.

Other mods I have that I don't think would be causing the issue,

Hey all! I recently downloaded the community patch (through this link, the full version http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=528034) and now whenevr I play a game, all of the yeild icons are food, instead of production or gold or whatnot. Is there a way to fix it? I am only using the mods included in the link.

Hi. Common bug. Clear the cache (so go to my documents->my games->civ 5->cache) and delete everything besides the 2 folders.

Then go to the MODS directory and check if there are any Lua directories in "Community Patch" and "Community Balance Patch". If yes, delete them (the Lua directories). This is assuming you installed the EUI version.
 
I'm running version 1.0.3.279 [Steam auto-update] with the following mods installed via the 9/19 auto-installer. I'm running Windows 8 usually with Direct X9 (though I've had the same results with DX11). If I close the game (either exit to Main Menu or exit to Windows), then relaunch the game and load the saved game it crashes to the desktop (CTD) at the leader load scene. I've been experiencing this with releases since at least since the August 24 CPP. This occurs with all CPP saves (both early and late era saves).

Besides deleting the cache and ModUserData before launching, I have recently deleted the cache, re-downloaded the mods, and re-deleted the cache with same behavior. I've also removed and reinstalled the entire game via Steam a few CPP releases back. See attached for CvMiniDump and save files.

I can't believe how much work the community has put into creating such a complex and wide-reaching mod, let alone one as widely compatibly as CPP. I've become quite accustomed to its game-play improvements. Playing Civ 5 without CPP, is just a sad reminder of what it could be, so it isn't much fun. Not being able to load a saved game is a big deal to me.

I'm sure I must be doing something wrong on my end, because I haven't seen others reporting this issue.

This behavior doesn't occur when playing a game without any mods or with other non-CPP mods (e.g. Extended Eras, IGE). Any hunches of where to start?

AI civs units can move/attack and heal on the same turn. Moreover archery units can move after shooting.
 
there is a typo in one of the Celtic pantheon beliefs - the one that gives bonuses for coastal cities, it says that it gives 21 faith per turn.
 
Hello

Can some explain what error is occurring here, and how I fix it? Bellow are the database.log, xml.log and lua.log files. While there is only one set, I played 2 games and checked that I got exactly the same error in both. This had been a persistent bug for me ever since I moved to a new PC and installed Windows 10. It has occurred over serveral re-installs of Civ5.

I have installed the game (from steam) into a clean folder. Downloaded my mods, installed them than done a cache, ModuserData etc delete then game re-run. Error still persists with CTD at exactly the same point every time. I have all the DLC reqired etc.

So what is wrong with the horsemen?

Adding to my post above: Using the newest CPP (Yesterdays), the save games will not even load before CTD'ing. Generates the same errors as above.

Are you trying to load saved games from a previous version? That'll crash for sure.

City Limits Mod may be causing it too.
