Tried to use the newest versions (65 resp. 11) of CP/CBP together with EUI 1.23b. As per various instructions, I removed YieldIconManager.lua and YieldIconManager.xml from CP plus CityBannerManager.lua, CityStateStatusHelper.lua and CityView.lua from CBP. Result: CP/CBP without EUI seem to work fine, as does CP only together with EUI; CP/CBP together with EUI result in a crash to desktop as soon as I try to found my first city. Various log files plus a crash dump file are attached.

Seeing exactly the same issue - only with EUI 1.23 (not 1.23b).

Community Balance Patch v11 seems to be creating some issues with cities. When you found a city, you get a couple of spy icons appear *and* you get the ranged combat option coming up too. I take it this *isn't* meant to happen?

Aussie.

This sounds like a LUA issue. Using EUI?

I'll look into this, though I assume you are using whatever files EUI replaces the Yield manager with? Without those files, the game will definitely crash.

So it works with the beta, but not 1.23? If so, this sounds like an EUI issue that has been resolved.

1.23b is actually a bug fix for 1.23 (so it doesn't Work for the original 1.23 and not for the bug fix either), so please see if you can do something :)

I noticed this issue too. The problem seems to be, if you exit the city management screen too quickly after founding the new city, the game will CTD. So to work around this you need to wait a couple seconds and then you can exit the screen. A good way to make sure you're able to exit the city view safely is by trying to queue up units and buildings, they won't appear while the city view is "loading" (in danger of CTD'ing). Once you can queue up units/buildings, it should be safe to exit the city view of a new city.

So thats why I didn't see this right now. I have another EUI issue though, which I just reported here. It would be nice if you EUI users would comment on it if you experience the same (or not).

I haven't actually had a chance to play with the latest versions of EUI and CP. That was just from my experiences with the older versions of the mods. I'll let you know if the issue pops up.

I've got the same bug. Probably another incompatibility between the two mods. I'm reverting back to EUI v1.23beta5 since that is the latest version I have that doesn't cause problems for me.

EUI 1.23b indeed includes its own Yield Manager version. Furthermore, the CTD occurs only with EUI plus CP/CBP, not with EU plus CP only (which includes the Yield Manager I removed).

I don't even enter the city screen, let alone exit it. The game crashes as soon as I hit the "build city" key.

Does it indeed work for you with EUI 1.23beta5 plus CP/CBP? I'm still getting a CTD with this combo. What *does* work is EUI 1.22a (sic!) plus CP/CBP.

EUI v1.23beta5 definitely works for me with the latest CSD+CP+CBP. I assume you're removing the TopPanel files from EUI too? Other than the usual delete cache and moduserdata folders I'm out of ideas.

Yes, I deleted the Top Panel files from EUI and the relevant parts of the cache. Tried again to be sure -- works with EUI 1.22a, crashes to desktop with EUI 1.23beta5. I don't use CSD -- should that make a difference?

I reverted to 1.22a for now and made a bug report in the EUI thread.

What is EUI? I am using your latest CSD & the most recent version of CivIV Diplomacy features, if this helps?

Aussie.

Thanks to pa2k for testing. I've done some further test myself and have narrowed the incompatibility observed before. Note that my tests only comprise EUI 1.23c plus CP 65/CBP 11 with the respective files removed as indicated by pa2k; no other mods were activated. Additionally, for some tests I also removed EUI's "City View" folder. Results:

  • EUI plus CP/CBP indeed work (as they did for pa2k).
  • EUI without "City View" folder works (this is my standard interface).
  • EUI (without "City View" folder) plus CP only work.
  • EUI (without "City View" folder) plus CP/CBP result in a crash to desktop. This is also true if one doesn't remove CBP's CityView.lua.

So, for whatever reason, if one wants to use EUI plus CP/CBP, one mustn't remove EUI's "City View" folder.

just tried my first game with the latest version (cp,cbp, csd, cdf+eui) - i'm japan, my neighbors are the incas. right from the start they were at war with me, but not really. my cities can attack their units, but my units can't. they don't attack, but i could not make peace - diplo screen looked like in peacetime. after declaring war, i made peace the same turn, now everything is back to normal.

also, i was able to see the location of all city states from the start.

Did you delete your cache? There's also a minor bug in whoward's code that messes with some units being hostile to you and others not. This bug only happens if you start a new game after exiting to the menu from a current game. I've tried to find the source, and I have been unsuccessful thus far.

Good to know. EUI is very comprehensive in its LUA changes, and that makes it tough for me to deal with as a dll coder. The DLL, by virtue of how the game works, is the foundation for lua, so it is nigh-impossible for me to edit the dll to make the lua work (when the reverse is much easier)

2 bugs found

#1 is in the screenshot attached:

You can see here i just walked up to this city state from the south and a scout was already there. However i got the full "greet city state" payout. Assuming this isn't just how the mod works, then probably the AI is not getting these

#2 i traded out a copper to shaka for some gold and I am still getting the luxury. Its a very early game with 1 city and i for sure only have 1 copper hooked up.

cleared the cache to be sure - the revealed cities issue is still reproducable ... am i the only one? is it possible that it's somehow related to the manual lua cleanup i had to do to get eui running?

also another observation: in the latest game my neighbors are the danes, and they keep sending unescorted settlers into the wilderness between us. even after i declared war to capture the first one. maybe not a bug, but pretty stupid.
