Bug Reports - Post Here!

OK, not sure if this is the place to report this-as the bug isn't in the Community Patch, but more with a mod that is frequently associated with it.

Through testing various combinations of mods, I have ascertained that the CivIV Diplomatic Features mod no longer appears compatible with the Community Patch-a problem which has only surfaced since v.65 was released (as the game I played earlier in the week worked fine). Now I am getting the issue-in the diplomatic interface-of an almost gibberish "Discuss" screen.

I was wondering if it might be possible to ascertain what the cause of these issues might be, & whether or not they can be rectified? (CivIV diplomatic Features apparently hasn't been updated in *ages*, so it might have something to do with the effects of the patch!)

Found some inconsistencies with UB compared to normal Buildings that have been changed in v65/11:
Odeon: Does not give culture from dyes
Wat: Science from jungle tiles
Candi: Higher production cost than regular garden
Indus Canals: Civilopedia says it gives +1 production. It doesn't
Basilica: No faith from Wine/Insence
Ducal Stable: Doed not give +1 production as regular stables to

There may be more - this was just a look in the civilopedia...

cleared the cache to be sure - the revealed cities issue is still reproducable ... am i the only one? is it possible that it's somehow related to the manual lua cleanup i had to do to get eui running?

I actually had the revealed city (banners) occur once in my game, quickly zoomed in to avoid spoilers, but a few turns later as I accidentally zoomed out again they were no longer there and have not returned.

edit: this issue is discussed in more detail at the EUI thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=512263&page=63

I wasn't sure if we wanted to change those UBs yet or not, but I've gone ahead and made these changes as well for the next version.

Another bug/mistake is related to the Jelling Stones. Their description doesn't mention they need 15 people in your empire to work, only when you hover over them with the right technology researched does it tell you how many more people you need to get them rolling.

The solution would be either removing the requisite from them or changing the description.

Waiting for the new release and decided to hunt Down some bugs from database.log (version 65/11 and CSD 25 only mods):

Spoiler :
[5012.530] column Name is not unique
[5012.530] column Name is not unique
[5012.546] columns Language, Tag are not unique
[5012.546] columns Language, Tag are not unique

Confident the former two are related to the values BALANCE_MINOR_ANCHOR_ATTACK and BALANCE_CS_FORGIVENESS_CHANCE from MinorCivChanges.sql. These are inserted in the sql file but as they're already in the database they should be updated in stead. Haven't found the Language bug yet but I think it's related to one of these files (from stopwatch.log):

The first is because both CSD and the CP/CBP have the minor civ changes, and I don't want one to fire without the other. I guess I could edit them to behave differently, but it is a fairly innocuous error. The language ones are probably related to the settlers – I'll look.

Dance of the Aurora description doesn't mention it only works on bare Tundra. It doesn't provide the bonus on improved Tundra resources with forest.

I'll update the text (that issue is a hangover from the base game's version of Dance of the Aurora).

I recently started a new game with only the following mods:
Community Balance Patch (v 11)
Community Patch (v 65)
Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack (v 22)

There is something strange happening with the City Banner as you can see down below.

This is what the lua.log says:

I don't use EUI. I didn't delete any file from the three mods, as it was suggested for some files of the CP. Everything is vanilla. If you need further logs or information let me know it :)

65.1 contains a few more inconsistecies between UB's and the new Building changes:
  • Library was given one scientist slot but the UB's Paper Maker and Royal Libraries were not
  • Walls were buffed to 100 hit points, but the Walls of Babylon (which has the ability of having a higher HP increase than standard walls) are still at 100 HP too.
  • The Wat still contains two scientist slots while the amount for standard university was lowered to one.

Rather confindent I found the cause of the language bug reports too.

The strings TXT_KEY_NO_ACTION_BUILDING_NEED_NATIONAL_POP and TXT_KEY_NO_ACTION_BUILDING_NEED_LOCAL_POP are both defined in NationalWonders.sql of the Balance Patch (v11.1) and NewText.xml of the Community Patch (v65.1).

Sorry for keeping you busy but I don't like error messages - even though they may seem harmless enough they may (in my experience) cause the rest of a file to be discarded.

\Skodkim

Also with v65.1 it seems the burial Tomb still does not Provide Faith from Incense and Wine while the standard temple does.

Edit: And it still requires a Shrine

My bug is related to this line in CBP\LUA\Active\Standard CBP\CityBannerManager.lua:
Line 250 local iCityYield = (iUnhappinessFromCityCount / iNumNormalCities);

EDIT: Another one. When you enter the City you will see nothing. Everything is bugged. See lua.log:
Spoiler :
[2562.093] Runtime Error: [string "E:\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilizatio..."]:870: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'iUnhappinessFromCityCount' (a string value)

Community Balance Patch (v 11.1)\LUA\Active\Standard CBP\CityView.lua
Line 870: local iCityYield = (iUnhappinessFromCityCount / iNumNormalCities);

So it this intended, because you say that everybody will use EUI and has to delete those two files anyway?

Definately not intended. I ran Version 65.1/11.1 with CSD 25 this morning and didn't notice any of these bugs, so to speed up a fix for you could you do two things:

  1. Clear your game cache and try again
  2. if this does not help return with a list of mods enabled (with version numbers)

Bugs I found in v.65/11

(1) Cities build with a Pioneer are just normal pop1 cities without any buildings.

(2) The Reformation belief "Sacred Sites" does not seem to work. Hermitage in my capital with my religion did not get +10 culture nor +10 tourism. Neither give faith purchased buildings +3 tourism (tested only on a foreign religion in one of my minor cities. My own religion allowed no religious buildings).

My first civ5 game for month and my first game with CPP. Really great experience so far!:goodjob: Thanks for this!

Thank you Skodkim for your reply. I deleted the cache, the logs, and the ModUserData folder. Furthermore I deleted everything in the Civ 5 folder to be on the save site. I then installed and activated City-State Diplomacy Mod (CSD) for Brave New World (v 25).
Then the Community Patch (v 65.1) and afterwards Community Balance Patch (v 11.1).

When I found a city the CityBanner is messed up and by entering the city nothing is shown correctly. Lua.log gives me still the same Runtime Errors as written in my older posts:

[680.312] Runtime Error: E:\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Community Balance Patch (v 11.1)\LUA\Active\Standard CBP\CityBannerManager.lua:250: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'iUnhappinessFromCityCount' (a string value)

My game verion is: 1.0.3.276 (403684). If I can provide you with more information by posting log x just say it, I will give you more in detail information. I still use Civ 5 without EUI and I just installed the mods mentioned above, I didn't delete any files for compatibility it is just vanilla.

Which leader are you using? Just tried again and I don't see this.
