Hi, I love this game! Fantastic work Leoreth et al!

The Byzantine unqiue power (specifically bribing barbarians) - how does this actually work in game? e.g. I've tried to move spies "on top of" barbarians units (it's not possible), or when my spy is near a barbarian unit is see no different "bribery icon", etc. Many thanks.

Why is it not possible to move your spies into barbarian stacks?

I can move my spy onto the same tile as a barbarian unit(s) - the problem is that there is no added "bribe button" at the bottom of the screen. I've tried a few times with 400 gold - is the problem that I don't have enough gold?

400 gold should be enough, if you want me to check, can you upload a save?

Your spy needs to have some movement points left to activate the button. If your spy can't move anymore, you can't use it to bribe.

Spies only have 1 movement. Moving to a tile with barbarians removes all movement points from the spy, which disables you to bribe. Barbarians will very likely move to another tile, so chasing them is not an option because you won't have any movement points left when you enter the tile with barbarian units.

There are 3 strategy to get around the movement problem.
1. Station a spy on a tile and hope that a barbarian unit will enter that tile (not a very reliable strategy though)
2. Promote you spies with the Logisitics promotion line. This gives additional movement points to spies, so you can have some movement points left when you enter the tile with barbarians.
3. Bribe spies on road tiles. The roads allow you to have some movement points left. In your own territory it is likely that you have roads, so this isn't a problem. But outside your territory it isn't likely that you can use roads. (especially if the barbarians pillage them)
