C2C Leaderheads

On a somewhat related note how much work would it be to have the flag for your civ change during game? Or is that not even possible to accomplish?

This was part of the plan involving Adopting a Culture... when a new culture is adopted the flag would change.

What exactly are the other goals here being asked for though? SO?

Google Images?

There is Julius Caesar. Good thinking....

I MUCH prefer the Julius graphic we have now, actually.

I use the hell out of Google image searches. That would certainly be very helpful in making sure our leader graphics are good ones!

Who is the Congolese douchebag in the spotted leopard jacket, anyway? That must be the most ridiculous picture I've ever laid eyes on in Civ IV. What was the uploader on when he put that up? :dubious:

And get rid of Kim Il-sung and Hitler. They're totally unimportant from a historical point of view (Nazi Germany lasted only 10 years? That's no way to run an evil empire).

Wha? How could you ask for the removal of the most noteworthy figure in the history of the world? At least in the modern age, no man has had such a large impact on the course of history. I could not understand not including him in Vanilla but I guess there's those that might be offended - which only speaks more about how massive an impact he's made.

How is Hitler the most noteworthy figure in Earth's history? Even discounting religious and legendary figures, and hell, even restricting the title to "Most noteworthy individual of the 20th century", he was basically a charismatic figure filling a political market niche. If he had died during the Munich Putsch, someone doubtlessly would have taken his place. Even assuming the whole Nazi Party died suddenly in 1933, all that would have done is lead to a communist takeover in a few years instead, assuming the conservatives don't mount a revolution in their own right.

And let's be honest, what impact did he really have outside of Europe? I doubt the Japanese would suddenly stop being imperialistic warmongers because some politician in Europe never made it big. Africa would either remain a colonial playground or the poverty stricken warzone it's become today, and South America would still be stricken with a bad case of dictatorial socialism.

I'd argue both should be kept, Hitler because he presided over the reindustrialization of Germany's economy and Kim-il Sung because he was functionally the God-Emperor of North Korea, and his descendants are practically irrelevant in comparison.

Er Warsaw Pact anyone? Cold War. Probably would have developed quite differently without World War II.

Even if you only consider Europe, the EU would not exist without WW II, and if you don't think hat is significant globally we're looking at different globes

I can draw but I don't want them to look too "cartoony". Here is an example.

No, please. It has to be something remotely realistic. Not that you aren't a good artist, but that looks like something you would find in a comic book.

I'm still not certain why we couldn't just go with LH personalities that change over time. That would give the exact same effect while leaving the asthetics the same and not costing any extra memory.

Some of us would like the option of not playing the same leader the whole game. Besides the goal is that your current leader would be determined by your adopted culture. So you could be Boudica in the ancient age, then some sort of Saxon king in the classical, then maybe Henry or Wallace, then maybe the game plays out that you are Washington in the new world.

Yes but we're trying to make it unnecessary to do all that by simplifying the process. More info on that in the Archetypes thread. We're trying to streamline leader design and information storage there. (And I think of all topics, that's one you should be fully aware of considering how closely you work with leaders usually.)
