C2C: Promotions

How would this theoretical admiral be created? I'm not certain we can keep both a great general counter for land XP and a great admiral counter for sea XP. If we can though, I'd be in favor of adding such units.

As far as I understood it the original idea was to have a naval tree for normal GG, with the first step enabeling sea travel ( if possible).
But if not... currently you get a Gg and can either make it as Warlord , Great Commander ( which we mean all the time speaking aobut GG here) or a specialist. So a Great naval Commander would be just another option. maybe this is even easier, since it would prevent all powerfull GG that rule land and sea equally.

Sure we could. Other mods have done similar things. One mod separated out all the GPs into their own progress bars. I could work out the mathematical processing on rerouting the xp to count towards the other type(s -we're discussing Great Hunters as well) and maintain the values and birth thresholds and birth events in the dll. BUT I'm personally not with the skill set to develop the change in the main screen to add 2 new bars and effectively fit them onto the screen alongside the current GG bar.

I'd rather do it this way too... yes the alternative method of having all be core GG's that have initial missions that then further defines them according to player will or initial promo picks that cannot be selected if the other ones are. But actually having differing units and differing progress bars seems the better way imo.
 
Dont know what is going on with Spartacus, after you put in Bonus_Roman, it did NOT work, but then i put it back to to none and it STILL does not work, i need this to work again before release.
 
It must be funny to get Nelson or Michiel de Ruyter on a Great Plains map, and either attach them to a Tank or a Siege Ram, or settle them to help churn out Pikemen and Camel Archers! :lol:

Are you saying this is a change I made? I didn't put in Bonus_Roman. May have had to put in BONUS_WARE_IRON and or BONUS_WARE_BRONZE...

He can't pillage. That's why he can't have that promo. If he could pillage, he could keep it. I'd think that we want him to be able to pillage, no?

If not the Ambusher, at least then let the Assassin pillage. Maybe it's just me (and/or v27) but I can't build Rogues anymore.

Assassin's are just plain KILLER, not pillagers, sorry. And i can build Rogues, infact i just built 2 in my current game.

Do you have the Bandit Hideout built??

Thanks for the feedback. I just thought Ambushers pillaging might be OP given how cheap and spammable they are, and that Assassins might be a nice compromise. But I'll have to look into where the Rogue button has gone - perhaps it's gone into a category like obsolete that's hidden in my options, but still buildable.
 
Thats a weird one for me, its an AMBUSHer, so does he just take from the person or take from the land also??

Since they are cheaper and can infiltrate cities, I don't have a problem with them not being able to pillage, leaving the Rogue to do that job, who is more expensive and cannot infiltrate cities like a spy. But if he remains a non-pillager, then he would continue to lose a promo that is for nothing but a unit that can pillage so its up to you.

OK, I'll remove Looter from the Ambusher in my next commit.
 
It's stating that the combat class changed on the ranger when it upgraded. What is its new combat class and why should it change? Wouldn't the ranger be in the same combat class as a hunter still? Huh... something to look into.

I believe it was Combat V or VI, below i have another one?? A Camel losing some of it necessary promo?
 
Certainly the rest of what it lost was based on losing the Combat Promo... I wish I'd seen why the combat promo was lost!

I checked the combat class on the Ranger and its a Hunter combat class... very strange. I'll look into these more soon.
