C2C: Promotions

I still dont like the way the Heroic Promotions are currently working i changed my copy and added the help TXT but it still doesnt matter, i think that the Heroic I will have to have a lower Preq, i cant even get it till after Renaissance Era now??

It has no tech prereq, only requirement is having a unit led by a GG (as in attached, not as a Great Commander) and having Combat IV.
 
This should also give +1 :mad: (via the Outcome System) after a specific tech (via the Expression System) to a nearby city. I think that this is possible currently, but I'll look to make sure.

Well I was also wondering if it would be possible to "Butcher" Slaves/Captives like you can do to animals. Some sort of "Cannibalism" button for them.
 
Just looked at the changes you made to the Heroic line.

I still dont think it will work correctly, just because you added the help line to Heroic2, but its NOT there for HeroicI???

Also, there is a huge difference if it going to be a "step up" in promotion on the UnitCombats, way different???

I believe i tried it your way like this and then i could NEVER get HeroicI, because of the Preq??

EDIT EDIT: OK i took a look at it and now it deletes HeroicI but doesn't leave HeroicII as an option to promote??

Right now i have Heroic I (pic 1) (but no option for Heroic II??
I also have the other Preq which is Combat V i have Combat VI infact and still, no Heroic II avail?? (pic 2)

I think we need to re-name one of these because Heroic II is DH's and Heroic I is mine, and they do different things, with different UnitCombat's??

Also when i upgraded from Crusader to Musketman, it took all my Martial Arts Promo's away:mad:(pic 3)

Heroic I is NOT supposed to get the GA. The bonus chance for a fraction of a Golden Age is only supposed to be on Heroic II now, as a fitting cap to that line.

Thats my point, one has nothing to do with the other, one is mine and the other is for Subdued Animals from DH.

They are on the same promotion line, and one upgrades to the next one, so I think that they have been repurposed by now. Is that an issue, I kind of like the solution I made?

Well YES, , before you got Heroic I right away when a unit was built, not it doesn't even show-up, or is a choice at all, and I am all the way up to Renaissance Era, and NO Heroic I, anymore??
They should NOT be in the same PromotonLine, one had nothing at all to do with the other again!! Waaaaaaay different UnitCombat's for each one.

btw what did DH say about HIS Heroic II by adding the GA to it?

Then, really, they should have different names to help keep them separate in the player and modder's minds.

I was just thinking of that point, name sounds ok to be, let me see what i can do.
 
Too much pure Fantasy over them in my opinion. I don't think they fit with C2C.

Sure, thanks. I'm currently working on figuring out what is wrong with my new SDK stuff, but after that I'll work on my XML backlog.
 
I thought they would act as the FFH2 ones, be immovable units that attached to and detached from other units. (items that are carried by units)

We're working on a lot as it is right now but I did intend to get to a mechanism for artifacts eventually.

I like the ones we have, but I think there can always be more types of promotions. Especially with the upcoming "Leader Trait" promotions. Not to mention stuff that could be done with the Combat mod.

I also still would like someone to make the "Cannibal" promotion since we currently don't have any promotion quite like that.
 
Well... the Combat Mod will eventually produce a LOT more promos under various game options so if you're willing to play it when its complete, I've just gotta say: y'aint seen nothin' yet!

Thats good news, like i said "current promotions" meaning the ones that are there already, are at lest to me very good just the way they are. Unless some other ones come up and you need to update them, of course.
