[C2C] Ramkhamhaeng of the Incas

The pictures for Audious and Upplusa don't display correctly, but good update! :goodjob:

I wonder how many people are living on your planet.

I wonder how many people are living on your planet.

Well, I loaded up the save from January 1846, two turns from now. I founded a couple more cities in that time, bringing the total up to 115.

The total population count of those cities is 6,224,969,000. That's SIX BILLION people. The total size is 3,793.

Some time ago, the numbers for city populations were changed. For example, my just-founded cities at level 4 had populations of 48,000. Level 4 cities are now 500. That really brings down the total population.

Hey, you're approaching the global population in the real world ;)
I've heard that too, did they only manually change the lowest level cities' populations or did they change the equation to get the population? Because the latter can also effect the pop. of higher cities.

The formula has been replaced by a table of population at a given city size (in the CvCity.cpp file). So city size 1 is 50, city size 2 is 100, and it increases from there.

Only needs about 804,855,306 more to reach that number. the world population in RL is over 7 billion, as of Halloween, 2011.

Extraterrestrial Agriculture and Environmental Economics are my next two technology pickups. Extraterrestrial Agriculture won't do anything as long as the game is still confined to Earth, but Environmental Economics offers a few benefits.

Cintra occupies a southeastern island, near what used to be Babylon.

Inchon is another island city. I have to settle all these islands to prevent barbarian spawns.

Organic Cities offers a nice global health bonus. I think this would be the perfect tech for a super-Settler.

Thessalonica springs up in the shadow of a mountain.

I still have many Special Infantry waiting to be airlifted to their new cities. The octagonal structure around Huaras is the Nanite Defuser. It's a fun little Wonder, but it doesn't do anything, since its two functions are a one-time destruction of every nuclear weapon in the world -- but I never built any, and no one else got far enough to do so -- and increases enemy War Weariness -- but there's no one left to get War Weariness.

Nonthaburi is another little island. The offshore Methane Ice (the light blue patch) should help it once it gets enough culture to grow.

I find a good spot to place Buffalo near the ruins of Philadelphia and Nagasaki.

P'yongsong fits nicely between a pair of ruins.

Ravenna and Uruk share an island.

Lunar Megastructures tech. I think this is a tech that will only have effects on a solar system scale map.

Great Spies are hard to come to by. They are also not very useful when there is no one for them to spy on.

Portalegre. Still filling in gaps.

Planetary Megastructures tech. Comes right off of Lunar Megastructures.

Colony Arcology is the second to last housing technology. Only the Launch Arcology is left.

Hippo fills another island.

Next time: Winding down the settling.

You think so? The tech costs are rather insane atm. (150K per tech or something).

You think so? The tech costs are rather insane atm. (150K per tech or something).

We increased the era multiplier for technologies recently. There is now a drastic difference in costs between eras, so it's much harder to beeline deep into the tree and easier to sweep up the cheaper early techs and wait for your civilization to grow more so it produces more science.

Bulbing those scientists would likely propel you a few techs forward or so...G

I'm getting anywhere from a couple techs per turn to 1 tech/3 turns at this point, so it's not that pressing, but you are right. I've got a large stock of Great People now, and I'm getting close to the point where I decided to burn through a few of them.

vokarya, I wouldn't be half surprised that by turn 1000, Incan history books will say that the only civilization to have existed was The Incan Socialist Republic. After all, the party's word is law.

Actually, the Incas are not that kind of socialist republic. We're the nice polite take-care-of-everyone socialism. I'm running Liberal and Democracy governmental and society power civics, and I think the Socialist part is because I'm using the Regulated economic civic. I'm not using Socialized welfare -- I'm still on Superhuman. I'm not using Marxist society or Planned economy, so I'm not completely sure where the Socialist part comes from.

Besides, I'm not about to lose the glorious stories of the great Dog Soldiers. Or the storming of Babylon, or the sweep across the world.

There is no need to link Socialism to Evil, I live in Europe and have Free Speech.

Yes, I'm allowed to say what I want without our secret pol

You've gotta love free speech. I love it. You love it. Everyone loves it. In fact, let me exercise my right in free speech in denouncing North Korea, for being tNEVERMIND THAT PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC KOREA IS BEST KOREA AND THAT I AM DEFINATELY NINJACOW64 AND NOT A NORTH KOREAN AGENT WHO REPLACE HIM

Anyways, those cities wil be getting massive amounts of commerce from overseas trade routes though.
