I know that feeling but now at least my download speed is ok now upload is still bad. You don't need to include the compiled dll's in your branch that way it's alot faster.
 
Wouldn't I only really need to do this if help is requested on a project? Or are you suggesting all commits must have an approval process? I'm sure you and I both test as we believe is fit to but who's going to take the time to test to make sure its all 'ok' and let us know it passes for them if it's not put onto the main when the project is finished?

I'm having a hard time seeing the benefits unless we're struggling with bits or its really a huge project.

Imagine you work on a big project,
  • How do you track your own changes?
  • If you decide to rework something and later discover that something is missing or it was better before. How can you revert these changes without making a complete copy before?

this way you have a complete log of your changes and it's very easy to revert to an earlier version.

Would it be possible to have a picture for the gatherer that people get if they are first to study Gathering? Also is there a default Great Hunter one in there? If we have both I can look at fixing the Python for them.

- Merge duplicate Diplomacy First Contact text. I merged them out of core and into the Custom Leader folders. There are two which are problems Phillip II and Suppiluliuma. In both cases the core version is totally different to the modular one. I put the core version in the modular version but commented out. Someone will need to look at them and decide the appropriate action. Can you have 2 versions of first contact - sometimes one and sometimes the other?
- Fix Animals Story mechanism (amphibian story only so far).

I just need the images. There needs to be one called Great Hunter.dds which we can use when we don't have a valid one for the great hunter being born. Currently both the gatherer and missing Great Hunters get the generic missing great person picture. Not the best. ;)
 
Those are templates not a default Great Hunter. The default Great Doctor etc have some text and stuff. Are they in that folder like the other templates?

We never wrote any words on them, and this is all there currently is.

Renamed great-hunter.dds to Great Hunter.dds to match the other default images and what the Python code needs for the Great People pop-ups.

I believe these are the wrong size, you have 600X386 and ALL the rest are 512X512 and also they are withIN templates.

DH would know better than me . . .
