C2C - Transhuman Era

Oddly enough, full megapixel invisibility is more advanced than this and is INSANELY expensive compared to self colorizing materials. Optronics is using photons instead of electrons in machines which is way waaaay ahead of this time. OctoCamo (As it's called in MGS4) could be applied to anything - planes, tanks, structures... However it would be most effective with mobile units since perspective is its enemy (if it were a building, it could appear invisible from one direction, but not another).

I was an Xbox owner, what time period does MGS4 take place? Are there any other special techs from that game that can be added. ISo invisbility tech?

So the OctoCamo is only used by elite special forces then? Does it degrade with movement,(only works when standing syill), or does it work at all times?

@Sirus
MGS4 takes place "In the not so distant future" If you watch the full vid I linked in my last post you'll see all the other techs it has.

@MarisellaB
Correct, however it has a wide variety of use - MGS4 is a tactical espionage type of game and so uses the camo to sneak through entire battlegrounds. The camo works with movement, but not as well as being completely prone.

If the chameleon suit (octocamo (they say it's called this because the basis of the technology comes from the octopi's ability to blend)) were to be made a promotion (or a number of promotions) it would enhance successful espionage, some large % toward defense and minor % to offense.

MGS4 has a large variety of war-oriented technologies as the whole story revolves around how war is the only economy. Nevertheless, the GEKKO (bipedal tanks) have that moving wire (most likely because of nanotube synthetic muscles), all soldiers have nanobots that control the entire body including emotions, diseases, oral intake (impossible to get drunk), and sends all the data to a centralized terra computer satellite. There is also handheld railguns (which implies miniaturized generators the size of a baseball yet able to power an entire destroyer for a month).

Ill watch some highlights on youtube. I wonder what tech Azure put that can control a soilders entire body?

By the way your a Civ Leader huh? lol.."Im German". Like MariselllaB mentioned what do u think of adding new methods of artificial birth? Incubators like in the island (movie), exowombs.

I know their is Anti-Aging medicine, but what about eternal youth, or is it the same thing?

that reminds me..
The future of Transhuman Era Travel
Spoiler :

Transhuman Era speed limits for Urban Traffic

Class 0 to 35 mph- virtually all in rural areas
Class I up to 90mph, - unautomated and Pre-Shockwave Engine Era
Class II up to 150 mph -Autopilot Highway / Launchpod Jetpack
Class III up to 240 mph -Subsonic Highway
Class IV up to 355 mph -Transonic Highway/ ???? Jetpack
Class V up to 510 mph -Subterran Subway / Generation I Skyroad

Class VI up to 725 mph,- Magnetic Antigrav Track
Class VII up too 950 mph - Supersonic Rails
Class VIII up to 1200 mph - Generation II Skyroad
Class IX up to 1500 mph - Aerodynamik Antigrav Track
Class X up to 2100 mph - Generation III Skyroad
Class XI up to 3000 mph -Altimadynamik Antigrav Track / Hypersonic Rails

Class XII 3000mph and above - Orbital Flight / Hypersonic Flight

okay so let me get this straight..

Antigrav is only avaliable on magnetic tracks
Aerodynamik Antigrav is 2x as fast and can be used anywhere.

Adceleravi Antigrav [I guess the new name for the 3rd Antigrav is 3000 mph?], a is it a new tech because its a new engine system? does it require a vaccum tube or a special kind of track?

Verb
present active accelerō, present infinitive accelerāre, perfect active accelerāvī, supine accelerātum.

(transitive) I quicken, hasten, accelerate.
(intransitive) I am quick, make haste, hasten.

Is Adceleravi = Phantom class in Wipeout?

You guys picked a heck of a day for this argument. I was off at my sister's graduation and just got back (with a terrible sunburn  ouch!).

I am giving the skimming answer to this an will post some more later when I am feeling better.

I see both your points. My take is we have to make sure the techs are general enough. For instance take biology and microbiology. Biology is the largest general tech that match up includes microbiology. However through tech progression microbiology is discovered and becomes its own specialized science. However going to far would be to have microbiology split into say optical microscopes and electron microscopes. While the technology for electron microscopes can be discovered later to say improve microbiology labs, there should not be a specific electron microscope tech.

I hope you understand what I mean. Other specifics to actual techs I will have to review later.

@MrAzure: First, understand I mean no offense by this. I think that some of your new techs are either too unrealistic/fantasy-esque, too specific, or too much of just a quantitative advance as opposed to a qualitative improvement. I would like for you to please remove the following techs.

  • Next Generation GPS
  • Biomathematics
  • Artisan Firefighter
  • Specialized Police
  • Modular Armament
  • Digitalized Fabrics
  • Insecta Robotics
  • Biodiversity Infomatics
  • Liquid Materials (this one mostly just needs a rename)
  • Sophisticated Lasers
  • Metamorphosis GPS
  • Blue Electromagnetic Pulse
  • Intelligent Pavement
  • Launchpod Jetpack
  • Asymetrical Architecture
  • Transonic Traffic
  • Futuristic Theology
  • Novus Chemistry
  • Binary Legislation
  • Animamaterials
  • Creation Dogma
  • Soul Emulation
  • Luna Jurisdiction
  • Picotechnology
  • Luminal Organisms
  • Binary Agriculture (growing microchips?!)
  • Binary Pyscokinesis
  • Essence Transistors

These all fall under one of the aforementioned categories, and I would like to see them gone. I like a whole lot of your work, but sometimes not everything is worth keeping in a specfic role/context.

My take on them ...

  • Next Generation GPS - Probably too repetitive, what makes in "Next gen"?
  • Biomathematics - I am not sure what this is.
  • Artisan Firefighter - Could you explain what an Artisan Firefighter is. I saw the video you posted. Is that all it is?
  • Specialized Police - ?
  • Modular Armament - ?
  • Digitalized Fabrics - I like this one
  • Insecta Robotics - I like this one a lot.
  • Biodiversity Infomatics - ?
  • Liquid Materials (this one mostly just needs a rename) -?
  • Sophisticated Lasers - Maybe a better name?
  • Metamorphosis GPS - same as the next gen GPS.
  • Blue Electromagnetic Pulse - This i think we should keep.
  • Intelligent Pavement - I like this one actually.
  • Launchpod Jetpack - maybe
  • Asymetrical Architecture - what was wrong with this?
  • Transonic Traffic - ?
  • Futuristic Theology - this i think would be cool but not sure how to apply it.
  • Novus Chemistry - Keep!
  • Binary Legislation - keep
  • Animamaterials - ?
  • Creation Dogma - ???
  • Soul Emulation - ??????
  • Luna Jurisdiction - Maybe
  • Picotechnology - ?
  • Luminal Organisms -?
  • Binary Agriculture -?
  • Binary Pyscokinesis - ?
  • Essence Transistors - ?

OMG the great Hydromancerx!

I agree with you, a Tech has to be general enough. The issue I see with MrAzure is that some of his techs are more powerful improvements than its predecessor but they are similar,(antigrav and electromagnetic pulse are the major one for me), and even thou they are scattered pretty far, some people think they shouldn't be added. His issue isnt overspecification..but similar vertical improvement. Some techs bring nothing new to the table per say, but they are greatly improved. I like those Techs. I see Antigrav-->Aerodynamic antigrav-->Ace??? Antigrav no different than Rafts--> Triremes-->Galleons.

My solution is Azure should provide the content that was to be included inTechs that are recommend for deletion. Then if the Tech serves no purpose delete it.

I have a feeling he has a master plan, and all the Techs are linked together somehow.Remove one and the Tech Tree gets weakened. Some techs I think need to be deleted.

I have a strong feeling that a tech that is a more powerful improvement than its predecessor has unique content.

1. Azure should provde summarries of the new Techs.
2. Techs that should be deleted should be listed
3. Azure should list the content for that Tech. if its "acceptable" , the deleted tech stays.

Edit:
Azure can you provide a summary of these techs hydro listed?

The more you explain the more I like. However I am wondering if Biopunk and Cyberpunk will evne be needed anymore. There will be nothing to put in those alternative timeline techs anymore.

I'll chime in with what I think. I think a lot of these technologies desperately need renaming. The concepts are not bad, as far as I can tell. The problem is that the names are focusing far too much on specifics and not enough on fundamental underpinnings.

Example 1: Metamorphosis GPS. I think this is a really bad name. I would prefer (and am going to use myself, thanks to a modmod) Nanosatellite Network. The important thing is that you have created nanosatellites and put enough of them into orbit to create a far more capable satellite network than ever before. That you can then run a GPS system off of this is (to me) incidental, and almost obvious at this point in the game. Next Generation GPS has the same issue. I'd like something less application-focused.

Exactly! The power of names is amazing. Nanosatellite Network sounds a lot better. Its specific enough to know its using Nanosatellites but not so obscure that you like what's Metamorphosis mean for GPS?

Example 2: Insecta Robotics. From the Civilopedia text, this sounds like a brand name, which is a really bad idea for a tech name. I would suggest something simpler, like Microbots.

Or even just "Bugbots".

What do you think?

Delete:
-digitalized fabrics
-assymetrical architecture
-launchpod jetpack
-next generation gps
-intelligent pavement
-specialized police
-artisan firefighting

Renames

-Insecta Robotics name changed to Microbots

-Contemporary Vehicles changed to Concept Vehicles

- First Responder Robotics to Disaster Robots
-Sophisticated Lasers to Multispectrum Lasers

Animalia Exoskeletons are not necessary for Skyroads

Metamorphosis is now Nanosatellite network.

Maximilian is now Picosatellite Network

and the last one will be Molecularsat Network. [Molecularsatellite]

Modular Armament
Biodiversity Infomatics (combine with Genesis biology)

Well don't throw out the baby with the bath water! Some could possibly still be usable with better names. Also other we may not be familiar with and thus need either a better name or us getting a better understanding of the technology.

Note that others maybe be better represented by buildings/units having more than one tech requirement. Such as ...

Spear Making + Copper Working = Copper Spearman (aka Spearman)

First, Welcome MarisellaB and SirusLazerhawk to the forums! You are more than welcome to post any idea or suggestion you may have.

I just got home from Father's Day celebration and have not deleted anything yet.
I am going to revert back to Version 7.0, and after I read all of these new posts ill see what to do. I have just skimmed the new posts.

Exact, except some Renamings missing ..ex.Nanosatellite Networks
Digital, Cyber, and Nano Techs Schemas (7.0)

Whoah..u caught me in time! This is exactly what i was thinking right now. I think I need to explain the technology.

Thats the word im looking for!

Updated Digital, Cyber, and Nano Era Techs Schemas (8.0)

Ignore Lanchpod Jetpack.its getting merged with Transonic Traffic

What's with all the Artimis stuff? Not to mention there lots of vague techs in the future such as "insect name" biology, architecture, chemistry, ecosystems, genetics, etc.

See the other posts on how these can be improved (which seems to be naming).

I am not suggesting they be simplified and never have. I am saying why are they prerequsites for tech that don't need them eg Salt working or what ever it is called.

Camel Domestication was needed for Salt Processing since it took camels to bring out the salt from the salt flats. Other animals like horses and donkeys were either too small or not use to the extreme heat. Camels ended up being the best caravan animals for the job.
