C3C PBEM : Arcole - Napoleonic scenario-based PBEM

You might as well behave in a decent manner and be at "the bottom of the vp heap" with good and honest tactics or sneaky and treacherous reputation. :)

The year comes to a close in Russia and sees great strides in scientific progress. The Russians celebrate many great times, the harvest was wonderful and the Tsar has been more than generous in letting most of his citizenry remain in the towns and villages to reap the harvest. The people eagerly await Christmas and hope for another peaceful year to come (NOT!!).

There are rumblings that there is a war going on somewhere in Europe but so far the great Russian peoples have not seen any of it and do not wish to ever see any of it. They are happy and content. They are making lots and lots of babies (since southern Russia excels at very little else), and they are having lots of fun doing it... :mischief: The Tsar celebrates in his place in St. Petersburg drinking cognac and smoking cigars. He hopes to continue his peaceful relationship with Sultan (or whatever his title may be) Romeothemonk and looks forward to another prosperous year. He is contemplating what to do with his six children now that they are becoming adults. His four sons are his main concern, as sons who are idle tend to be michievous...

Played and sent to London.

@Spain: So, you just fortified there and what? You said you were going to visit some resort... Either attack or go away please. Even AI can understand that.

@Prussia: You do realize there can be no peace and trade between France and Prussia as long as you have MPP and RoP with Britain? Please cancel these deals since France cannot avoid attacking British troops in British territory. I also must remind everyone of dangers of having RoP with another human player. See Grognards thread where the said Prussia has been brutally assaulted during RoP by their ally. This brought the attacker to the top of the victory point list.

I'm not optimistic about my odds, but will play it out. If I remember the order right, you'll get your answer soon enough. It just takes travel time.

Spain has launched their attack. First my cannons tried to soften up the garrison. The tactic shows promise. Need more cannons...

Then my cavalry attacked, but then ran away when they realized that they can't hit the broadside of a barn with a banjo. What do I pay those guys for?

Finally, My Soldados attacked. 3 of them gave their lives while two of France's more experienced Voltigers were killed...

I will actually gladly switch the sides. You sit there quietly in the corner. And France is being stormed from all sides. South-east is somewhat cleared at least for a couple of turns. But everywhere else it is just a nightmare.

Do not worry it was a strategical retreat to heal our troops and reinforce them with new hordes of italian conscript redcoats. The hell will break loose there again in 1-2 turns :)

I can't declare war on England. I don't know how... The diplomacy screen doesn't give me that option... Is there a way to declare war without attacking?

For that reason I stated that I didn't feel I was advanced enough as a player to play France...

It turns out that Spain has it's own challenges... ;)

January 1802 is in my inbox, but will remain there for a few days. My computer is having trouble. It sounds like a fan needs to be replaced. I hope to be back to normal in a few days. Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay...

Game sent on to Emperor Akots of the French. The Tsar is pleased to announce that the Russian forces have successfully separated the warring parties of the Swedish and Prussian armies! :D

Played and sent.

One Voltiger killed, more wounded, one Soldado confirmed dead, a Cavalry forced to retreat (Are they supposed to be good for anything?)

The Swedish army tried to run the blockade set up between them and Prussia so Russia felt compelled to declare war on Sweden!

Played and sent to RomeotheMonk.

I took out another one of them Imperial guards in Montauban, but lost at least one cavalry in the process.
