Huron & Algonquin
Algonquin Shores
The British continue to land on our shores. Thanks to the near invisibility of the Native Raiders the British have not advanced far - yet. A raid was launched against their landing party.
Achak recounts his experiences:
The cold of winter had captured the land many weeks ago. Myself and the rest of my brothers longed to return to our shealter to dwell with our loved ones through the harsh season.
Alas, although many had died, the British refuse to give up their attack. Although the cold reduces their strength, the British refuse to return to their loved ones and allow us this time of peace. Warlust rages through their bodies heating them against winter's chill.
With no alternative, we raided the British positions this month killing many but not all. We appeared suddenly like disaster and killed the redcoats before they could move. Our arrows struck as quickly as lightning and as soundlessly as an autumn breeze.
We killed 25 British soldiers who had the courage to stand like men against us. The other 20 fled like frightened sheep. Although great, our victory came at a horrible price. 40 of my friends including my own brother, Ahanu, will not return home. The British will die for this tragedy.
Let it be known to the redcoats that the Algonquin Warriors will not cower from any battle! Winter holds no fear for us and now we know that the redcoats can bleed. Never believe that we shall talk without action!
