C3C PBEM : "Remus" - Rise of Rome scenario

despite all the difficulties I have had, i really dont think i have delayed this game for more than a day or two here or there, so I am not going to hold my breath on this one it just isn't moving

I think we would need to find a replacement for CrisiusMaximus...
I greybeard still wants to play this one, I'll post in the replacement players thread.
We need CrisiusMaximus password, however...

who has the admin password? i know someone who owes me a favor who could play one turn at least & use the admin password to change the password to something else for the replacement, this same player just might be able to serve as a replacement, but i cant say for certain

bad, very bad, i dont think there's much hope in contacting him, in another game another player has made several attempts & got no response over the past 2 months, so unless someone else also has the admin password (was this game originally organized by someone else? guess i could look back at the first post to figure that out, hold on while i go do that)

okay:

This is a new thread for a game that was originally organized in another thread.

Players : 8 (Celts, Goths, Scythes and Egypt will be played by AI)

Rome - ChrisiusMaximus
GreyBeard - Macedonia
predesad - Persia
Carthage - Portuga

the game will be called "Remus" to be recognizable and when you get the game.

so is there a possibility someone else also has the admin password, & where is the other thread it was organized in, my memory fails me. shame to have to do detective work to get a game going

Post #4 in this thread seems to suggest it was organized by Loulong. He sometimes collects the passwords for games he has started. I wonder if he has the admin. for this one.

I have sent an email to Chrisius asking if he still has the passwords for the game.

@Portuga: Have you tried opening the last sav. file you sent to Chrisius on the off chance that he did not use a password.

good luck hearing back form chrisius with the passwords, in another gmae he was emailed & pm'ed for several weeks with no response. perhpas it is premature, but the game is prolly dead.

well, since it looked like everyone was going to attack me, & even though I feel I might have defended all three of my fronts, if the game doesn't ever get going again i will concede victory to either / both greybeard / portuga

i would like to particularly commend the honorability of greybeard, we had a complicated cease fire at the beginning of the game & i feel he went beyond what was necessary in keeping with the intention of the cease fire, taking advantage of some allowances in our agreement to "monitor the border", but not trying to find any loopholes & seize a sudden advantage at the conclusion of the cease fire. regardless of what would have happened with the outcome of the game, he has earned my respect & i thought the matter worth noting.

I believe this game is dead. I emailed chrisius over 2 weeks ago and did not get a response. Also, it appears he has not been active in the forums for over two months.
As for conceding victory, I was still scrambling to find a strategy to combat that giant stack of catapolts and other assorted units. :)
Anyway, thank you for the kind words and too bad we didn't get to play it through to the end. It was a very entertaining game.

well, the key to my current situation was the cease fire at the beginning & managing to hold off on the GA until I had imperialism & revolted, an early tech trading alliance with portuga also helped. My GA still had not ended. Every city builds a unit every turn, even with all the rushes (mostly short rushes) my economy was still growing.

i enjoyed the game, too bad it came to an end.
