C3C PBEM - WW2 Global

All right...so I get another shot as playing as Germany...a chance for some REDEMPTION... It is quite itimidating knowing that I am going up against some great PBEM players...thank goodness Eric_A will probably be fighting primarily in the Pacific Theater at first (or at least I hope). I am becoming an experienced PBEM player, but have yet to showcase a spectacular military performance in any of them. I guess, I just have to put to use what I've learned in Market Garden as well as maybe a little test of my own to develop a winning openning round of fighting...

I'll be watching from the sidelines because I got an error message witht he save that Dazz_G sent. I'm hoping to get that resolved for the next round...

Found out what my problem was: I didn't notice the 94 Mb download. Pulling another all nighter. Damn, I was hoping those smarties would last a few days...

Edit: After noticing that it would take almost 9 hours to download, I'll either try to invade my uncle's place (complete with High Speed connection) or try to plan for a better day for an all nighter (complete with more junk food).

I've got a headache and really want sleep...

I'll try to have the file within a week.
 
Sorry for not getting this out faster... Yesterday was extremely busy with my first TE 100 class 8:30 to 11:20, a job interview at 3:30 and a date with my girlfriend at 6:30. I got the game played but did not send it until today at about 2:20... That was the longest turn ever at a little under 3 hours...The Italian Navy must have every ship it had in real life...Scares me to think of how big the British Navy probably is...

One thing...I debated if for historical reasons whether or not I should build Italian only units in Italy, but, I see that that would mean only Italian Inf so I doubt that I will not be doing so...

Well...the action:

Battle of Poland:
-Started with massive bombardment by: 12 Dorniers, 9 Heinkel111s, 8 Ju87Bs, 7 ME109s, 5 Ju88s, 1 ME110 & 5 Art. Then 1st Army Panzers, 2nd Army Light Inf, 41 Inf Div, 6 Panz, 4 Light Inf (Ger) & 1 Cav Div def. 35 Inf Div, 11 Cav, 3 Garrisons, 1 Tank, 1 Flak & 1 Fighter (Fr) as well as any in port Naval units. German losses: 3 Inf, 2 Panz, 1 Ju 87B & 1 ME109. Lodz, Warsaw and Danzig were all captured.

Meditterranean:
-Attack with 23 Dest, 4 Subs & 4 Breda Dive Bombers (Ger) def. 13 Subs, 12 Dest (Fr) with German losses of 2 Dest & 1 Sub.

Preliminary Attacks in France:
-Bombardment by 4 Bombers & 4 Heinkel 111s. Then 4 Tanks & 1 Italian Inf (Ger) def. 2 Special Forces, 1 Inf, 1 Cav & 1 Art (Fr).

Eithiopia:
-1 Bomber & 1 Cav (Ger) def. 1 Garrison (Fr) and capture Dijbouit.
-3 Bombers bombard the city of Berbera (Br) & destroy nearby roads.

North Sea:
-3 Subs (Ger) def. 3 Dest (Fr).

North Atlantic:
-1 U-Boat (Ger) def. 1 Dest (USA).

GPS to Rubberjello along with Diplomatic Proposals to both Rubberjello and our ally Augurey.

Also, just cause I am curious let me know how long the turns take for each of you...mine was around 2:40...it is nice to the enormous Italian Navy, hopefully I don't waste it :( .

Part of the benefit of this playtest is to see how (un)balanced the game is ... if you avoid building MRDs altogether then we don't get to see how these units affect things.

That being said, you don't necessarily need to build only MRDs and totally kick our behinds.

What I would suggest is build a number of MRDs consistant with your gameplan and lets see how things go.
 
Are those to represent the Soviets ability to stop Hitler's army at the gates of Moscow and then Stalingrad??? Nevertheless, I am guessing that their shield cost is high?

If I remember right, it's like, 150 for 19.21.2 stats.

... which is a pretty big bang for your buck.

As for only building only Italian units in Italy, this was one of the things that concerned me when I heard Italy would be part of Germany ... if you take away the poor quality of the Italian army, you basically end up playing just one big Germany with all the strength that the German units possess. I think this may unbalance things somewhat but then that is what we are playing this playtest for ... to see if things balance themselves out.
 
My Panzer 3, 24.15.2 at 150 combined with my German 88, 1.22.1 at 170 would equal one of those...

Not 100% realistic...

Is it available from the very beginning???

No. Russian Motorized Infantry loaded up (at least on my machine) as 20.13.2 - which is the Version 1.1 values for them, not the 1.2 version. So good news, really. They have them and can build them at the beginning.

It took me about an hour to play my turn (no attacks.) A little tip for BK- probably a bad idea to default setting Governers on when your setting up a PBEM game, most people (I know) play with them off and I had to go in and switch 'em all off in each city.
Game sent on to the Chinese version of DazzG :lol:

Those numbers are right. They also have +2 hitpoints. The Soviets don't have much production power though, so, it's not as if there will be thousands of them flooding into Germany
