I am going on a vacation this Summer, before school starts, and that vacation is a vacation to Cape Girardeau (Missouri, United States). Cape Girardeau is the third largest city in Missouri (the first being St. Louis and the second being Kansas City), so I figure I could think of lots of things to do there right off the top of my head, however, I am afraid to say, I am at a loss. Well this vacation is very important to me, because it is the first time in my life that I will be going on vacation without parental guidance. In fact, I am going to be driving down there myself (with my newly obtained driving permit), however, the law for the States of Missouri require that I have only one passenger in the vehicle when driving, and that person must be a responsible adult (18 or older). Luckily for me, my uncle, Jonathan McDonald (Prime Minister of Jonathanland) will be going with me. Alright, I think it's about time I got to the point, if any of you would be so kind as to list some (if not all) attractions in Cape Girardeau, after all, I am a tourist. When I said attractions, I meant all kinds of attractions: local cuisine, national monuments, international monuments, state monuments, city monuments, libraries, amusement parks, major bodies of water, museums, airports, shopping centers, parks, memorials, and everything else that can be considered an attraction. I thank you for your time and effort in helping me succesfully make (and plan) this great journey.

Seems to be some lame micronation that he started.

I'm surprised to learn that Cape Girardeau actually exists.

I live about an hour away. I don't remember much, but there is a beautiful old town by the Mississippi River. If you travel a little bit on foot over the old brick roads, there are some beautiful murals on the flood walls that keep the mighty Mississippi out.

:)

Springfield, Columbia, Lee's Summit, and a whole host of other towns in MO will be severely disappointed to learn that Cape Girardeau's 37,000+ people now outrank them.

If you're going on a vacation, why in the world would you go to a small city in Missouri? People don't go to Roanoke, Virginia for vacation, you shouldn't go to its equivalent.

HEY! IF you wanna see the home Robert Heinlein was born in and the town he grew up in, you'll have to come visit a small town in Missouri. My town. Come vacation here, you'll love Sam's burger joint :D

I'm too afraid of gun-toting rednecks.

Dude, you shouldn't be. You're east of here. Us gun-toting rednecks are protecting your east of the Mississippi backside from Kansans. You should be grateful, not afraid.

(j/k Turner! :D )

You should move further east and save us from St. Louis and East St. Louis.

You do well to fear us!:D

St. Louis has some nice stuff, especially toasted ravioli. Plus, the All-Star game is coming up.
