We are glad that a non-violent solution could be found to this problem.

We thank you for the compensation, however, we will not be stalled in our naval training in the South Atlantic. It should be known that our exercises will continue, and as before no harm will come to Argentine ships. Another unprovoked attack will lead to retaliation. You are lucky Brazilians are so civil.

We will continue to give warning, and any Brazilian ships that enter within a mile of our coastline or interfere with Argentine trade, will be fired upon.

To: Paris-Burgundy
From: The Republic of The Netherlands

We cannot allow you to ignore the sovereignty of The Swiss Republic in such a way, withdraw your ultimatum immediately.

Hanover and Denmark offer their support for the Republic of the Netherlands in this issue and believe that the Swiss ultimatum should be withdrawn.

To Switzerland
CC the Netherlands, Hanover, Denmark, Austria, Bavaria, the Pope
From Paris and Burgundy

We have decided not to enforce our ultimatum. While we still denounce Switzerland's atrocious behaviour, we do not wish for war with Switzerland, and we will help our Austrian allies in other ways.

edit: pointless haha

To: UK
From: Poland

The positioning of one of your new colonies is awkward to say the least. While we may seem hypocritical with regards to Spain's colony to the north, we wouldn't dream of blocking off their expansion any further than we have already. Regardless, would you be interested in transferring your new colony to Poland? You will obviously be compensated.

Kindly respond.

To: The World
From: Languedoc
CC: Paris and Burgundy

In order to preserve the fragile peace in Europe, the Kingdom of Languedoc, with the full support of her allies, is issuing the following ultimatum to the Kingdoms of Paris and Burgundy.

1. The Kingdoms of Paris and Burgundy will sign an immediate treaty of peace with the Kingdom of Milan-Savoy.

2. The Kingdoms of Paris and Burgundy will reduce their land forces to no more than 50 brigades, a size which they will not surpass until at least five years after agreeing to this ultimatum.

3. The Kingdoms of Paris and Burgundy, upon agreeing to this ultimatum, will not go to war with any nation for five years.

4. Failure to comply with these demands will result in an immediate declaration of war on the Kingdoms of Paris and Burgundy by: The Netherlands, Languedoc, Denmark, Switzerland, Hanover, Poitou, and Normandy.

Confirming the ultimatum from the NPCs involved.

For God's sake, help us. This is a flagrant abuse of our sovereignty and Austria's.

To Languedoc, Netherlands, etc.
From Paris and Burgundy

Absolutely not. We might consider any one of the terms, maybe even two, but not all three. Moderate your terms.

To Austria and Bavaria
From Paris and Burgundy

Clearly we hope that you, as our allies, will reciprocate with threatened declarations of war on Languedoc, Netherlands, etc.

To: Kingdoms of Paris-Burgundy
From: Empire of Holy Spain

Our maps show that you have common borders with both Austria and Savoy-Milan, so, if you wished to aid the Kingdom of Austria by declaring war on the Kingdom of Savoy-Milan, you had no need to present an ultimatum to Switzerland to force them to let you pass through their territory. While we can see that the second term of the ultimatum is a bit excessive, it is however your fault that you are now in this situation.

We have removed the ultimatum, agreed to their demands, and yet they presented us with further demands of a quite outrageous nature.

Our ultimatum is due to your aggressive military buildup, and unnecessary declaration of war on Savoy-Milan. Paris and Burgundy has become too strong for it's own good.

Our military currently comes to 118 brigades. We do not trust any of you enough to reduce that by 68 brigades, and are certainly not willing to scrap 408EP worth of military equipment, and certainly not willing to reduce our military to a size smaller than it was two years ago. We would much sooner fight it out; if we're going to lose that much materiel, you're going to have to come and get it and expend just as much of your own in the effort.

We are willing to agree to the ultimatum if you increase the allowed size of our military to 110 brigades (and we will increase it no further for five years).

Alternatively, we are willing to cut our military to 65 brigades, but only if we are compensated by the signatories of the ultimatum to the tune of 5EP per brigade decomissioned.

Austria, Bavaria, and the Pope all denounce the ultimatum against Paris-Burgundy and find it to be a flagrant move of aggression against that peaceful nation. Furthermore, the Pope calls upon the Emperor of Spain to take the proper side in this debate against the aggression upon Paris-Burgundy.

To: His Holiness
From: Emperor Carlos VI de Trastámara-Borbón

Your Holiness, I understand the reasons why you ask my country to stand on the side of the Kingdoms of Paris-Burgundy in this current discussion, and if it were under any other circumstances we would gladly follow your lead, given that Paris-Burgundy has declared war on the Kingdom of Savoy-Milan. However, Paris-Burgundy's recent army recruiting puts two of my nearest and more steadfast allies, the Kingdoms of Languedoc and Provence, in danger, given their proximity to Paris-Burgundy.

Perhaps Paris-Burgundy may be willing to offer something that Netherlands, Languedoc and the other nations may be willing to accept.

We have decided to accept the ultimatum we have renegotiated with the Netherlands and Languedoc, with the revision that we will be allowed 100 brigades.

We retract our declaration of war against Savoy-Milan.
