When Great Wonders are captured do the benefits they provide transfer to the new owner?

EG. I am about captured The Hanging Gardens, will I get the +1:health: in all my cities ?

Yes. You don't get the :culture:, though. Nor (obviously!) would you get any one-time effects that happen when the wonder is built. (e.g. getting an extra population point in every city)

99% sure that if it was obsolete for them but not you, you'll get the benefits; if it was not obsolete for them but it is obsolete for you, you don't get the benefits.

i still think its a flaw in the design, that you don´t get a share of the original :culture:
if rome was owned by france today, the colosseum would still be a mayor building contributing to the culture of the city... just for example. i would have prefered half the culture or something....

As a variation on the question, if you don't get the culture benefits and you capture the city with the Eiffel Tower, do you get the broadcast towers in all of your cities, and hence the culture benefits of the broadcast towers? Same question applies to Stonehenge and the monuments in the early game.

i can confirm that if you capture Stonehenge that every captured city will have monument and the monument will provide culture after the city comes out of revolt.
It's one of reasons why I like capturing stonehenge (aside from the fact that it pretty often comes with shrine :-D)

Yeah pretty much most wonders are worth having, but worth building it yourself is a good question. except for things like great lib, taj or oracle, most of them just provide you with benefit regardless of who built or where its built... But of course you can't really control if the AIs gonna put that wonder you like right next to you or half a world away either. I still do enjoy reaping the benefits of those peacemongering civs. Its the best part of warmongering~

You don't get the :culture: from the Stonehenge "building" itself. But you get the Stonehenge's power -- monuments in every city. Those monuments give :culture:.

What about the religious wonders when you have no state religion? E.g. Sistine Chapel (you need a state religion to build it, right?)

No, for the 3 Religious Wonders, you only need to have a State Religion to get the benefits from that religion's buildings.

Without a State Religion, you can still build the Wonders, and for the Sistine Chapel, all your Specialists still get +2:culture:!

I don't think you can build the AP if you dont have a state religion. You can capture (or raze!) it when you dont have a state religion though.

For the University of Sankore and the Spiral Minaret, you dont get the bonus if you dont have a state religion (but you can still build them).

You have to have a state religion to build the AP. it also has to be in the city for the city to build the AP.

I am not sure what happens if you switch state religions to another one (that is in that city) - I assume you can still build it.

Yes, you can. And the religion is only locked in once you build the AP.

Knowing all that is why I had the question about the other religious wonders. Thanks for clrifying that.

To answer my own question above, in my current game I just captured the city with the Eiffel Tower and suddenly all of my cities have Broadcast Towers, even though I don't have the tech to build them myself.
