how the hell you do that merging stuff, I want to apply it to Road of War, so that I can finnally be able to get less lag when playing that. Also I kinda dislike rhye's mod a bit... i wait till he upgrade the game with car's so that i could play it again...

Give me source of your RTW (link me to the version of RTW's sources you are using, either regular official one or Dale's UE [3.19 updated by Deanej]), then I will merge CAR in for you :D. No problem at all.
 
it'd be a great idea if someone makes a CAR cvgamecoreDLL that allows like 40 civs
the mod will be really useful for games with so many AIs

mine is unmodified, The Road to War is just one of those Beyond the Sword's mod that came with the game.

Thank you for the link but I wanted the sources, not the finished dll. But don't worry, now I understand that you want the original RTW. I will look for its sources online now. be back with you in few hours or so with a new dll merging in CAR.

Found the sources in the BtS Mods' own directory. Just had to reinstall BtS because I erased all vanilla mods. Now I have the sources, I'm compiling the RtW in then I will merge in CAR and re-comile. Should be ready for you to test in few hours... like 8 pm EST.

The majority of the extra AI times brought by more players come from diplomacy, which we didn't touch in this version. The other enhancement are still valid though.

To make a 40 civs dll, one just need to change a tiny place in CvDefines.h: search for MAX_PLAYERS, and change that define value to 40.

I see. I tried to read a bit on the instructions on how to do modding on this forum, just to make a cvgamecoreDLL that allows 40 players, but it was quite a lot to read. How do I modify the file?

:lol: Talk about a lot of time on my hand till Aug. 31, when I start classes again.

I will do this for you. Glad this one is easy. Should be done in one hour or less after I am done compiling Road to War mod for another person here.

To that person (forgot your name, sorry!) there was an electrical outage so it is late. The merge is done, but it is compiling as we are speaking so it should be out in less than hour.
 
Hello,

Here is the dll that has CAR merged in. Put the unzipped dll into The Road to War/Assets and overwrite when asked for. Be sure to backup the original if you want to first. Not savegame compatible so you have to start over again.
 
Compiling the 40 players dll merged with CAR now. Be ready to be here within one hour or so.

Btw, actually, it is max_civ_players, not max_players. Don't worry, I can see where there is mis-recall :).

So let me get this straight, this mod takes some load off the CPU, but makes the computer use more memory?

That's excellent! Right now my CPU is bottlenecking my computer, while I have way more RAM then I need.

The accurate way to say this would be: this Mod takes huge amount of CPU load off with a tiny piece of extra memory usage.

Please not that the 15% increase result is on my computer, which has 1Gigs of memory, and a core 2 duo intel CPU.
 
my computer is one of the state-of-the-art computers, this computer can play crysis on very high setting but will suffer lag doing firefights and have small lag pulse. I wish this game support multi-core, so that i don't have to suffer alot of lag at all.

No sources included.

Stmartin had his sources included. I just have mod folder structure with dll included.
