Carrie Fisher - Heart Attack

:cry::sad:

I think it's one of the things that I like about Carrie...that even though she was A-list, she was her own woman doing her own thing (even if some of that was wrecking herself :shake:) to the point where many people wouldn't know who she was, as evidenced here.
She wrecked me too...I never have meet a girl that could live up to Leia lol

I think that due to the original trilogy being so old it is one of the franchises where many people know the characters but not the names of most of the actors. Other than Harrison Ford, anyway :)(and to a lesser extent the Obi Wan, played by Jeremy Corbyn )

I wouldn't know (and again forgot) the name of the Luke actor either, if he also wasn't the voice of a character in the Sierra games Gabriel Knight, and the Joker.
I didn't know even how the Vader actor looked like, up to watching a video on him some weeks ago :)

Here's Fisher at the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony for George Lucas in 2005. She was a great comedian. I haven't seen anything close to everything she did. Take a spin down her IMDb page - she worked basically nonstop for 40 years - and then remember that she was also a best-selling author. She was in not one, but two of my favorite - and some would say genre-defining - films, Star Wars and When Harry Met Sally...

Quite so.

I am bound to say that the only two characters I can really remember are the two absurd robots.
Droids. :nono:

C3PO and R2D2, played by Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker, respectively (still hard to believe that there were real actors in those costumes).

Obi-wan Kenobi was played by Alec Guiness. Luke was played by Mark Hamill. As for Darth Vader, which version? Prequels? Which age? Original trilogy? The older Vader we got to see right before he died (and before the movie was mucked with to show the prequel actor there) wasn't the same actor who played him in his active scenes. James Earl Jones was the voice of Darth Vader in the original trilogy.

^I know (about Alec Guiness), but i was alluding to a meme:

Yeah...cos we were all going to follow that without seeing the meme...

Debbie Reynolds has died

I can't imagine how Todd Fisher and Billie Lourd must be feeling. Hope they're not alone over the coming months.

I've seen this before. Two closely associated people die in close succession. It's as if the second person lets go of a rope.
