What car do you drive? Are you old enough to drive? What vehicle do you transport in then? What good cars are there for me?

My parents drive me around in a Ford Taurus SEL. :smug: whatever that means...

BTW, I don't know nearly enough to make a poll :p

I'm easilly old enough to drive... but I'm more of a Trains, Jets, Skateboard kind of guy.

This is the car I drive : Renault Clio.

Just wondering, is Renault the same company that made thoes Renault Tanks from World War I?

I drive a 2001 Ford Mustang GT. Looks pretty much like this expect it doesn't have steeda written all over it or the the white stripe at the bottom of the door. Otherwise its exactly the same. I love to drive it. It has a good acceleration (v8 engine!), is pretty loud when you hit the accelerator (the engine roars), and I have an emotional attachment to it since its my first car and I actually got the one I really wanted (we got it at a good price).

Another view of it. The color of my car is like the previous shot (the darker red).

Well, yeah it's the same company, simply 90 years older.

Renault had been nationalized after World War 2 for political reasons. Indeed, the company had massively collaborated with the ennemy so the owners (the Renault family) had lost the property of the company because of judiciary reasons. In the early 90's, Renault's capitals have been opened to the market and now the company is privately owned. About 5 years ago, Renault has also bought the Japanese company Nissan. Renault-Nissan is now one of the largest group worldwide.

I drive a 1997 Mazda Protégé.
It's not the flashiest or the fastest car around but I really don't care. My car serves me to get from point A to point B. I rarely use when I'm in the city, except to go to work or visit my parents and friends who live outside the island.

I'm not yet old enough to drive, but I do have a car :>
Old ('85-ish) Volvo 340. It is dark blue, and very rusty. It still works tho :)
Maybe next summer I'll fix 'er up. Who knows. At least I have a car ready when I turn 18 :)

Aw yeah! The Studmobile. That's a great name.

I don't have a liscense, but I do have an expiriing, unactivated permit! I also don't have a car. But I do ride one of these around occasionally!

I'm old enough to drive, but I didn't bother getting a driving license. I don't need one yet ; living in Paris allows you that. I think on the whole I save quite a lot of money on gas, car payments, parking fees, stress...

Most of my friends who also live in Paris have no cars also. When we go on a week-end trip or anything like that, we just rent one ; that way, we have a brand new car for cheap.

Of course, when - and IF - I'll move outside Paris, things will be a lot different. But getting a French driving license is such a pain in the... (it's expensive, it takes months, and given that we have one of the worst car accident record in Europe, it's not efficient) that I'll postpone it until the knife is on my throat :)

And in case of emergency, I know how to drive, so...

I have one of those (Century Limited, padded roof) parked out front of a property. It's not technically mine, I stole it - just kidding, but it's the closest I have to a car. Cars polute, I hate polution!

I think any Briton would agree it's a rarity on our roads, and that's why I claimed it. I'm a sucker for rare items of interest. This is what you want (closest I could find to my board, same deck). How immature am I? :smug:

I have a liscense for both cars and trucks (from the army) but I only ride my bicykle. :D

I ride my bike, use the bus (rarely) and get my parents to drive me places, and/or walk if there within a few miles.

I use these:

I don't have a car of my own, but I drive my parents' cars - my mom's 98' mazda 323 and my dad's 02' ford mondeo. The mondeo is ford's european large family car, so in that sense it is similar to the taurus, though AFAIK the mondeo is a bit smaller and a bit better equiped.

BTW ideas for a poll - classes of cars driven (superminis, small family cars, large family cars, etc), year of production, manufacturer, etc
