Caveman 2 Cosmos

Guys? I'd like a few answers to the questions I asked earlier...
Like why Workers move out of your territory...

Like why Workers move out of your territory...

They should not be except when escorted by other units but I think that may require some units to be on auto escort.

Reasons they may be doing it
- they are trying to get to a disconnected part of your empire
- super forts - a new addition that lets you claim territory outside your borders earlier.

Turn on the AI logging and post a save with the log when a worker leaves your territory so we can investigate. Probably goes in this thread.

I'll be back when I find the instructions on how to do that. :D

edit on the BUG options Logging screen set BBAI Logging level to 3. The log is found where the other logs are.

Well, it might be the super forts or something, because they only do it one to 3 squares outside my territory, and they always build forts on resources, but the territory never grows over that.
I'll give it a try later, with the AI logging.

Where are the other logs exactly?

Thanks though, and now I only have my question about the nuclear power plant needing a toxic waste dump, despite the two having nothing in common in real life.
I hate to be a bit pedantic, but a toxic waste dump should never carry a risk of a nuclear meltdown, mostly due to the laws of physics. :)

Maybe this mean that Toxic Waste Dump can leak to natural enviroment (ground water for example) and do lot of damage to surrounded area?

Maybe the Meltdown isn't a "real" meltdown. If the Waste Dump catching fire or there is an explosion somewhere, would this be a big catastrophe? If so, it might work better as event, but we don't have such event so the already implented Meltdown is a good solution. Take a look at the Solar Satellite Power Plant (or whatever it is called). It also have the chance of Meltdown. I'm against it but Hydro had the idea from Sim City where this Plant have a chance to accidently burn down the whole city. This catastrophic event has nothing to do with a meltdown, but he wants to keep it since it is an easteregg.

Hmm, good points.
It's just I've had to deal with three nuclear meltdowns in my last game, and having to rebuild a ridiculous amount of buildings, including world wonders/national wonders, every time was rather annoying. Especially since no one apparently dies, just a bunch of buildings get destroyed...
Because radiation doesn't kill people somehow, it just pollutes buildings.

When I'm in the Galactic Era, my cities should not be afflicted with nuclear meltdowns. I think we'd be a bit beyond worrying about that. :)
I've researched and built the Eden project. That alone should stop issues with radiation.

There needs to be a research or building that disables nuclear meltdowns, I've seen it before in another mod pack.

I know about the microwave plant meltdown too from Sim City 2000. But both events were added by the special edition, and I'm not sure why Nuclear meltdowns was a needed disaster in Sim City... I always figured it was their way to punish people for using the best freaking power sources in the entire game... :P

Regardless, if it's an easteregg, it should be a bit optional. Like the option to remove negative traits. Which in my opinion should be the default, but still.

Regarding the bad things that can happen at a toxic waste dump, I can reasonably state that the worst toxic waste dump incident is not as bad as Chernobyl. :) They tend to be rather small radius.

I know I shouldn't let realistic physics bother me in a game, but I've always been irritated by how nuclear power is given a bit of a hard time. It's my biggest pet peeve, nobody likes nuclear power plants. :(

Hell, Coal power plants produce more radiation than a nuclear power plant. AT the very least, they put more radiation into the atmosphere than a nuclear power plant does.

Really sorry for being so grumpy about that. I don't mean to be. I'm just really passionate about nuclear technology.

And I don't mean to go off on tangents, I just get carried away. I don't even post here that often because I play games in a weird way. When I get tired of them, I go on to other games, and then someday go back to them. I've only recently got back into this mod.

Hi everybody...

I'm brand new to C2C, but I've played RoM AND for a while. Is there something wrong with the way Revolutions is currently working in C2C? I noticed that the default settings had revolutions and barbarian civs turned off and I searched these forums and found a few threads from about a year ago talking about problems with revolutions, and nothing since.

Thanks for your work. I love the game.

It must depend on your playstyle. I play with Revolutions and if anything I find them too little of a problem (and I'm on Deity now). Try them and see if you like it...

My understanding is that the perceived problems will not be 'fixed' any time soon, as the code is too complicated.

*cough* Nuke waste is the worst nightmare there is dude, up to 10,000 years most of it has to be stored. If it gets into our water supply more then it has already we will be screwed! Nuke energy is far worse then Coal and has proven to be very dangerous, if you check into it more and not be gung ho, 1000's of americans are dying from the nuke plants leaking into local water supplies. lol We need alternative energy that is safe for the planet and humans doh!

(Sorry guys had to get that off my chest lol)

I do agree that in C2C there should be realistic instances regarding nuke waste etc but on a realistic scale! :P

What problems are there with Revolutions? I played with it on and off, found no major issues really, they are updating that mod regularly last I knew though...

Sorry but if you read those threads you found, you'll know more about them than I do! The only thing I can think of is that the AI has more trouble with them than any human player, so they give an extra unwanted advantage to players who like a challenge. Yet I vaguely remember some criticism that they were too hard to deal with for the player. I don't suppose that's much help, but it's a dump of the entire contents of my brain on the subject, so...:crazyeye: it's all I got...

How to I update across versions? Do I just download and unzip the new file in the same place I did the last one? Or should I let 2 copies of most files overwrite?

You need to remove the old version before you install the new. This means either deleting the old or renaming if you want. Then installing the new. The saves are stored elsewhere and as long as you call the new version (mod folder name) the same as before your saves will load in the newer version.

Uh, all of our nuclear waste from nuclear power plants is safely stored in places where it cannot get into the ground water. Besides, we'd have more 3 eyed fish in lakes if it did leak out.
I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that 1000s of people have died from it...that can't be covered up. And would be the American equivalent of Chernobyl.

I'm sorry to derail this topic, but it's far well known that nuclear power plants are extremely safe. Their side effect is very nasty, but extremely extremely rare.
Look up the list of nuclear power plant disasters, you'll find that besides Chernobyl, there aren't that many devastating ones.
Coal power plants continue to produce more radiation in their smog that is released from burning coal then every nuclear powerplant does in the fog you see coming the towers, that white fog is essentially steam. No radiation, nothing.
In fact, I am certain if you combined all the nuclear power plants on the planet, all that steam, you would find not even 1 billionth as much radiation as a single coal power plant produces in it's smog.

Trust me, I know nuclear power plants. They are the future of power generation, them and quasi hydroelectric on the oceans, somehow, floating powerplants. Once we manage to no longer need to build nuclear power plants on rivers/lakes, we'll be able to supply more area with the power.
They are vastly better than coal at producing power, as Sim City is a good example of.
Once Fusion reactors are online, we'll eliminate the need for nuclear waste, so we won't have to bury it in the desert for 20,000 years.

What do you mean by renaming? Like renaming the entire caveman2cosmos folder? Or removing it and calling it something else?

By renaming he means to rename the c2c mod folder to something else.
Or you can just delete the thing, which is what i do usually when upgrading to a new version.

The torrent for v33 from the comments section is just opening a blank tab, and I'm pretty sure desura isn't the way to go.

still air units , the rebase type fighters and bombers, do not get promotions , .
helis and balloons do.
