Caveman 2 Cosmos

Alright, so I loaded the mod and got up to do something else for a while. Sure enough, I come back and it's loaded, great!

Now it CTDs while generating a new game without any error, though I believe this sort of question should be in Bugs and Crashes. I did look through that thread and found no answers though.

I had read somewhere that it only works properly under certain game conditions, such as map and speed, but couldn't find any suggestions beyond a recommendation to play on slower speeds than normal. Could these things be the problem? I'd be inclined to experiment, but the load times make trial-and-crashing impractical.

Did you use both parts 1 & 2?

Since you are not getting any XML errors then you have probably loaded everything fine.

Depending on your computer specs you may have to reduce what you expect. Try on Large or Huge maps not Gigantic. Where you running a custom game? If so what map script did you use?

Sorry, is revolution really working in this mod? :/
I'd been constantly playing C2C since about version 19 with no revolution ticked off but as far as i can remember i never did experience any revolution :/
Do i missing something here?
Thanks :)

If you play the default i am pretty sure its not on, you might have to see if the red face is in the top right corner or not, if so then yes, if no then NO??

The Guevara's icon is there. But when i opened, i see the same window as the domestic advisor one (except that there's the empire stability info under specialization scroll menu).
Is it supposed to be just like that? :/
Isn't there supposed to be a city by city revolution info (i remember i got city by city info in ROM AND. Or is this how revolution supposed to work in C2C)?
Thanks :goodjob:

Should be the same as in AND in respect of advisors. You should also see (local) stability in the city window (there's a bar display of it on the left hand side near the bottom)

Is it just me, or is Civfanatics exhbitting TERRIBLE performance lately?

not just you - unfortunately there are some issues currently. One major one is that some script or other tries to contact a server called booklandonline.info (a social bookmarking site) - which is a non-responding server. I would strongly advice to use an adblocking software or otherwise block requests for booklandonline.info, e.g. through an entry in your host file.

There are other reasons for sluggish behavior currently - but that one is a major pain, I am afraid.

Another person had te same problem. Their solution was that you need a CustomRevAdv.txt in Caveman2Cosmos/UserSettings for the button to work. If you don't have one it does not create one and you get the same as the domestic advisor.

Awesome new version, but I ran into a problem I didn't know existed. Is there a way to break the 50 civilization limit for a map?

Uhm, unless you have a supercomputer, I HIGHLY reccomend to not go above about 30, unless you don't plan on finishing the game. That, and civilizations arise from revolutions and barbarians, so the number of civilizations will rise throughout the game.

Aaah i don't have that one?
So where am i supposed to get that file?
Just being silly, i made an empty notepad file named CustomRevAdv.txt and now the Guevara's button just doesn't work at all :p

I put one in the SVN in the folder User Settings. However I am not sure it works either. :(
Wait, so that missing file will give me no revolution or just a not working revolution watch?
How come everyone got this file and i don't, given if i'd downloaded it from the same sources as others  ?
Btw thanks for the response, any idea of workaround will be gladly received :goodjob:. I miss rolling my troops on my own city :mischief:

In general you only get the User Settings folder with the download version. On the SVN the folder is empty because everyone has their own prefs and you don't want to over write yours with others. I think it may have been missed on one of the download versions. It may be best to get a copy from another mod that uses rev. then edit it in game.

Is there anyway to not wait 14 hours to download then play this mod?
