Caveman 2 Cosmos

Just tried it again, and same deal. Ah..."snip shot"? What is that? I'm afraid I'm not too computer savvy. While I'm waiting for you to respond, I'll try downloading it again.

I don't know if this matters, but I cannot for the life of me get 7-zip to extract it directly to the mod/Caveman2Cosmos folder. I have to extract it to the desktop, then copy it there. Probably doesn't matter, but just letting you know.

In your start button area, click on it only ONCE, then go to all programs, then once that comes up, go to accessories, then go to Snipping Tool, and take a (snap shot) of what i was asking for, i make a shortcut and placed it on my desktop, cause i use the snipping tool almost every day.

I used planet generator to build a map, and for some reason my spawn point has black lines going across my first city all the way across the map. I suppose this is from the world map crossing over the edges. What I really want is planet generator to build a map closest to reality. We have 7 continents on our planet. Will this have the same effect if I put 7 continents in planet generator?

Can anybody tell me what settings for planet generator would most match-up with a real world map? I have noticed in real life that there is a lot of consistency. In Greece and Turkey there are a lot of hills, lots of desert in Jordan and north of Arabia (like around Petra and Palmyra), and then you have thick dark forests around Germany. So, as far as hills in bunches, I don't mind as long as it is consistant with what a real world map would display.

I am really into world history, and I think the one we have is awesome, as well as geography (and I love our planet's geography as well). So, I want something closest to reality. I am also going to use the largest size possible, as I am going for as epic a game as possible.

I think you would probably enjoy the GEMs (Giant Earth Maps) There are several made specifically for this mod. I'm not good at posting links but they are here in CFC. As for earth-like map scripts I don't know.

This sounds like the UAC setting on your computer.

I keep seeing that people use these Giant Earth Maps. I assume these maps try to emulate the real-life planet Earth.

What's the best map option to select if I wanna play on a map that won't try to resemble earth, or repeat itself in every new game? I've been using PerfectWorld2f.

I modified storm growth to 100 and started a game on large map , turn 180 right now.
How the hell do I reduce the storms spamming way too much ? Already 12 in my relatively small uncovered area. I modified back to

<iDisappearance>10000</iDisappearance>
<iGrowth>0</iGrowth>

But storms don't dissapear, rather more are spammed.... any way to reduce/remove them ?????

Use the no storms option in the bug options under the C2C tab. It won't work to eliminate storms that have already spawned but once they run their course, you won't get any more.

I check the options for ReVDCM inclusive archer bombard, in GlobalDefinesAlt.xml and then in game bug menu, and in single player the options are not working in both version of Caveman2Cosmos (23 and 24). I mean i didn't find any buton for archer bombard like in A New Dawn. There is a bug or was removed by authors? In AND the options was working even in multiplayer, aftel I checked them in single player game. And ranged attack is for what for ranged units like Atl-Atl?

I found one bug in the dll and have repaired it for archer bombard. That is not yet a promise that it will work on my next update though, as there may be other issues with it still. I haven't yet tested to see if it works now. I just know that what they were trying to do in a particular spot wasn't going to work quite right anymore and it needed an improvement to make sure it couldn't be thrown off again. Koshling did help me a bit with that too btw.

Are these updates compatible ? I'd rather play 1-2 months later than wasting now 30+ hours or more on a game and having to end it soon because of a bug that makes it unplayable :(
Why some end-game tech cost 1 point while others 18mill ? And what's with the barbarian heavy agression, my second try on eternity/prince , barbarians wiped out 4 civ's around me then I myself survived to some 30+ stack of cavemens =]
I do tweak gamespeedinfo, to make the game less boring in begining but still, never seen in AND 1.74 that kind of barb agression 2 games in a row, even with halving unit recruiting value,

Everything in C2C is compatible, even if there is BIG changes, Koshling and AIAndy made a modifier that makes it so compatible, even if its 1 file or 100 files.

The Mongoose mapscript is exactly what you need, I find it makes the craziest looking maps. :P

I don't think it's down per se, the site is stating it needs to be validated before we can download it.

I am pretty sure you can still download it, course it could be just me getting that "download now", below all the mumbo jumbo, because i am the author?

Not sure where to post this and don't think it needs its own post but how do you tell what units a Great General Field Commander is leading?

I think whenever one of your units within its command radius is involved in a fight, it spends a command point and affects the battle. Unless it's out of points for the turn. It may not have an effect if the general has moved this turn and in the last version of AND I played, it would have no effect if you used up all the points in the previous turn.

This. When a unit is involved in combat it looks for the best (most promoted) command whose command range it is within and which still has at least one command point. If it finds one then those promotions apply to the combat and the GC gets it's command points reduced by one for that turn. The combats that take place first use the GC points up in the order they happen (whether attack or defense)
