first time playing on immortal, so far just terrible luck. my continent has 3 other civs but absolutely no way to contact anyone else to do any real tech trading... we have a long way of teching to do to be able to enter ocean tiles and go find people. it's scary, I'm all alone now(RIP HRE, Korea, France) and I keep getting updates about world wonders being built from techs that I can't research yet. we're 5th on the tech list at the moment, so it's going to be a rough road.
That's kinda what happened to the Native Americans isn't it?
Silly noob question but how do I install this and the patch? I gave it a go but when I loaded up the mod it just said Civ4 is not responding and then closes, I can only assume I've done it wrong since this is my first time using a mod.
Thanks.
In the mods folder did you make a New Folder then change the name to Caveman2Cosmos, then put your un-ziped C2C files (inside only) of that into the Caveman2Cosmos folder?
When we're on the subject of the natie American civ can we please delete or rename them
There are hundreds of Native American tribes that can be used to make civs. I have an encyclopedia with over 200 tribes described. When we're on the subject of the natie American civ can we please delete or rename them
cannot settle a city on marshland, so I went to the civipedia thing and it says marsh cannot be settled unless it's on the coast or a river- well this is a coast tile, still cannot settle. does it have something to do with required technology or type of settler?
The coast is a lie. It needs to be by a river.
well, there is a difference between salt and fresh water. try and see if a fresh water lake-side marsh tile can be settled. if so, you have your answer. And it can't be on a coast why?

I was just making a guess. rivers provide fresh water bonus. coast doesn't. the game might be trying a fresh check was what i thought might be happening. also, marshes might have fresh water in the sense its not salt water (not true for all marshes granted...) BUT IT IS VERY FAR AWAY FROM DRINKABLE.I thought the logic behind that tag was not the fresh water (you're in a marsh), but the access, you could either have movement along a river or onto a sea or ocean.
