You are playing with the fixed boarders option on.

Then perhaps he should be keelhauled and have his rum ration cut in half for a week since boarders don't work very well if they are not mobile. I guess that's what happens when you add a Pirate Empire to the game - you're quietly posting to the forum and the next thing you know someone is scuppering you with a handspike and impressing you into the Pirate navy. Ahrrr!
 
I'll have to find and look at that option again. Lost access to an already built culture because of that and it mightl be too long before I can get it back before the special unit (Babalonian Archers) goes nearly obsolete.

I had to switch from Monarchy, I was 15 cities over the limit

Some civics in other categories also give fixed borders. You can have them with republic if you choose other civics accordingly. Of course, as with everyone, it's a trade off.
 
I have a problem on playing the new version of C2C...I have windows 7,the CIV4 complete version 1.74 and BTS 3.19...when i try to run C2C it pops up an error that says 'Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\ is an invalid mod directory,ignoring'...plz help

Are you running it with Administrator privileges on?
 
Ok, this is the fist time I've tried to install a mod to Civ4. I'm not entiely sure where to put the mod and I've dropped it into the mod folder and the python folder in custom assests and both times... nothing. The game didn't notice a difference.

I have Civ4 complete on a Windows 7 and my bts is up to date.

Take all the stuff in the zip file, make a folder called: Caveman2Cosmos, here (Mods\Caveman2Cosmos), take all the stuff INSIDE of the zip file not the folder it comes in, just the contents and place it in that new folder you just made in the mods folder, and poof your ready.

Just wondering... Is multimaps still in development? Because I would love space and other planets to be added to the game while I'm making my lets play. Basically I predict I am a month away from getting to the point where spaceships would be unlocked.

Is multimaps being worked on actively if at all these days? It's just that I read somewhere that it was about to be released but that was written months ago...

Good luck to whoever is working on it and hopefully it will be at least semi ready before my current lets play ends. I'll showcase the heck out of it if its in the game and my lets play is still going.

Glancing over the civics in the change civic screen, I don't see it documented which provide fixed borders and which don't (and thus which allow you to claim tiles). Is this info in 'pedia entries somewhere?

Yes (near the top of the entry if it's present). The following civics all have it:
  • Monarchy
  • Totalitarianism
  • Vassalage
  • Intolerant
Slightly fewer than I'd thought, but with options in 3 overall categories (once you get sufficient tech). For Middle Ages fixed borders Republic+Vassalage should work.

I'm wondering if maybe it should also be on 'Military Tradition' ??

Koshling said he wants to add the underlying code during the V28 cycle (or maybe even before the V27 freeze), in addition to AI and stability fixes. So yes, we are still planning on doing it, it's just getting the focus to do it and also make the rest of the game balanced.
 
I dont know what happened to bugs and issues thread so i will ask here.

Is there a way to get rid of storms that got stuck on the map ??

What do you mean by "adding the underlying code"?
