Caveman 2 Cosmos

Seems to be working now, thanks :)

Edit: Spoke too soon. Another crash at the end of the turn after some 10 turns. Started playing from an earlier save and chose to recalculate because of the changed DLL.

If you're still crashing on the patched DLL please post a minidump (and save if its reproducible). See bugs thread. If you're on a large map size you may be running out of memory in which case the workaround is to enable viewports - see if that makes any difference...

Normal size map. And I've been playing the similar setup games with the earlier versions of C2C without any hiccup (normal, continents, default number of AIs)

Should be reproducible with the autosave I posted earlier. It's a hard one to catch since I can't figure out exactly the situation in which it occurs. Could be related to something the AI does which makes it somewhat variable as to when the AI does it. Here's the minidump from the crash if it gives any indication.

The minidump file (if you're running he patch) should be named minidump_<version Number>.dmp. This is either an old minidump, or you have not got the correct patch. Can you verify the build number that shows in the text that comes up when you hover the mouse over the flag please.

I'll try your save shortly here to se how it behaves for me, and update this post having done so...

Edit - autoplayed 30 turns from the autosave with no issues. Let me know what build number your installation is reporting...

bts 3.19
c2c v31
bull 1.3 build 219
caveman2cosmos build 5709 (game saved from build 5709)

OK so I had the .DLL in the wrong dir, should have been in ..\assets\ (right?)

btw as somewhat of a novice to all this modding, the location where it should go wasn't clear, maybe it could be informed in the patch thread first post (or I need a new pair of glasses :) ) there was a post on the second page that I apparently misread.

now I moved that and see caveman2cosmos build 5896.

Will play with this and report findings.

I tried downloading it, but when I selected the mod in-game, it exited out and then did not reload the mod ... I tried forcing the mod to auto-start but that didn't work either. Any thoughts?

Well, again got to play 20 or so turns and then the same kind of CTD

The minidump is useful - do you happen to have an autosave that reliably reproduces it (I can probably work it out from the minidump, but if you are able to find a reproducible save case that would be helpful).

Edit - I made a fix based on the minidump. I'm 90% confident it's the issue that caused your crash, but without a reproducible test case I cannot be 100% certain. I'll post it to the patch thread shortly. It will be rev 5926.

I played on from an earlier autosave, for me they've all in the end produced the CTD but you tried one and didn't suffer any ill effects so I guess we will have to make do with just the stuff you got from the minidump.

glad that it was useful :)

Please let me know what happens when you continue with today's patch. The information is always useful - I can't guarantee ill solve it first attempt every time, but so long as we can continue to gather evidence well get there in the end (and in this case, hopefully have done so with today's update)

Does the zip from the patches thread contain the right DLL? I've downloaded it twice and in game I'm seeing version 5918.

That's correct. The DLL rev does not correspond exactly to the SVN rev, only to the last DLL-modifying rev, and in this case 5918 is correct.

I'm happy to report that after playing several hours today, it seems that your fix worked :)

I found out the problem wsd that i did nt have patch 3.19, but i got it. Now it loads up (agter 10 minutes), but opens 2 windows (is this normal?) and then loaded thru xml init uncached, and then shuts down. Is this a problem with my computer not having enough ram? Its 10 years old so ...

Edit: this was version 31

could I get a rundown on the new things in v32? (from 31)

I downloaded the Mod, added it to my MODS folder on beyond the Sword and went to ADV in game and loaded the Mod and it did not work, It loaded but then brought up the normal Civ beyond the sword menu as if nothing happen. It worked before when I installed it with desura but now it doesn't work anymore and I have tried everything to get it to start. I use the Steam version, I also added it to another MODS folder in Steamapps/Civ4 beyondthesword/Mods and it still didn't work just loads up the normal Civ 4 BtS menu, what am I doing wrong?

Note: This is not the desura download Version this is the GameFront download link

Hej folks. PC repaired, got a free evening, so I installed Civ again, tortoise to get the svn..but I frequently run into
"zlib (uncompress): corrupt data: Decompression of svndiff data failed"
during updating.
Sometimes "Malformed network data"
Clean Up and restarting works, but not for long. I probably can finish sooner or later with repeated clean ups and updates, because it starts where it last left off before the error.
But it is nevertheless rather inconvinient. Anyone got an idea how to fix this?
