Caveman 2 Cosmos

Wow at the differences and I'm just at the very start of the game. Money is easy to get for one thing at the start because it seems like that is all the goody guts give very early on. I have over 4000 now and just researched Druidism. It's going take getting used to the slower pace and many more turns that the snail speed has. It's awfully early, but it does seem like the AI is doing much better even with tech diffusion and win for losing turned off. I noticed that it took a while for animal barbs to spawn but once they did they seem to be stronger. Strength 4 units have been losing to them at times. I have my ambushers out now and a master tracker so things are well in hand. Really looking forward to getting deeper into the game. Keep up the good work C2C team.

I thought there was a way to update the files here so they didn't have to go to MODDB to get it and it would count towards the amount of downloads on the site here. I'm mostly just wanting to ensure I'm publishing the right link on the Player's Guide.
 
I seem to be unable to download the 38.5 version -- the moddb page is having trouble loading (it stuck with a black background) and no 'download' button in sight. Am I the only one have trouble with Moddb, and is there another site where I can update the new version of C2C? Thanks.

EDIT: site finally loaded (4 minutes later) and I clicked the 'download button'. It currently says "21 hours left"... :eek:

Don't be afraid to make a topic to ask things. There are a lot of mechanics in c2c such as crime and police that can be a bit tricky to get the hang of.

Yes it the ONLY download avail at MODDB, because this site (CivFantics) u can only have a small amount in the file size avail, and C2C is HUGE . . .

Seems fine and aggressive version so far but it seems that the combat animations are disabled again even when they are enabled from the options. Is there an easy way to enable them?
 
Then what's the point of even having the civic in the game, if it is a downgrade? It'd be like having a unit in the medieval age that upgrades from something in the classical and has half the combat power :p

Because it might not be a downgrade with a different playing style and in different situation. Even the game itself reminds you from time to time that newer civic might not be a better one in this particular situation.

Revert these please... there's a reason for the redundancy - all Ancient ways had Sed Life as their basis. Any other tech was considered a secondary prereq.

As with all others, the charts shouldn't need to change as they were mostly compiled to assist with the costing which 'should' have always been based on the most advanced tech prereqs anyhow.

If there are any that are completely disabled then they needed to be. As for sametile combat, you'll never have combat animations in those cases because the animations assume that the attacker comes from another tile and it would cause problems as a result. There are some air combat animations that are just flat out problematic as well.

What about Guilds and Corporations?
If Guilds and X were tech prereqs of given guild NW, then Guilds tech prereq was removed if it was covered by tech X, and tech X was removed if it was covered by Guilds tech.
Similarly Corporations, which had Corporation and X tech prereqs lost their Corporations tech prereq if it was already covered by X tech.

As for tables it doesn't matter in table, that now some of units/buildings have outdated tech requirements?
