Caveman2Cosmos IdeaTracker (Where to post your Great Ideas/ Bugs & Support)

Yeah, just give me some time. SVN seemed confusing too but now I am use to it.

EDIT: How longs the account activation take?

Should be instant. I have you on as an Admin..if u havent gotten anything, let me know

Ok I think I am getting the hang of this. I checked off 3 I already fixed and assigned some tasks to DH (sorry buddy).

ls612 you need to make account too so I can assign stuff to you. :p

I really don't like this new idea of using three or four websites to plan and discuss the mod, what was wrong with just posting here on CFC?:( I don't want to be cycling between three or four websites to keep track of what to do, so please continue posting new stuff on the forums, I'll see them there.

Here is great for discussion, but the idea tracker is WAY better at tracking actual stuff that needs specific work. They can be cross-linked if neccessary.

My goal is to help get these issues settled, and to help organize things for C2C.

It is good to have options like real-time chat, and the idea-tracker,
But the goal is to help make things for everyone easier, so they are free to get things comfortably done.

I'm all about organization being the solution. I've seen it work many times before.

There needs to be a little investment of time in improving the process, so the rest goes smoothly.

Some of it is the Horizon effect, where you have to cross the next hill to see what the new lay of the land is and how to traverse it better!

What I am going to do to test out the IdeaTracker is to get as many of the better ideas as practical into the Ideatracker, and cross-link their discussions. I have started cataloging them and will rapidly accelerate the process, immediately. So basically you don't have to do that unless you want to right now.

I am going to start with the current features being pursued by the Mod-Team,
then I will add Waiting/Stagnant Features as Dancing Hoskuld has suggested,
then the Ideas from the Ideas/Discussions thread, and so on.

I have done some preliminary work and have started organizing the more important ideas in:

The Idea Inspiration and Organization Thread
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=464235
to make a master prioritized list for existing ideas that people have already mentioned.
Grouping and refining will occur there.

If the Idea-Tracker doesn't interest people they can always post in the

Caveman 2 Cosmos (ideas/discussions thread)
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=377892

like they always have
or

Post in the appropriate discussion thread.

My only concern is that chat or the idea-tracker will be inconvenient to some. I hope it doesn't discourage anyone. These programs may end up the best choice. My goal is that C2C can get even better, and that distractions can be organized and learned to be better managed.
New ideas can potentially move you forward and become a major breakthrough.
I think it is worth taking a little time to find out.

Here is probably great for discussion about the Idea-Tracker, specific ideas may be better off in the Idea-Tracker itself, or general discussion on ideas in the Ideas/Discussions thread.
Whatever works best.

I made an account to report a bug, but I keep getting 'error #401' when I hit submit. The quick reference guide does not help with this.

Seems like it still added it (as the report I assume you are referring to is there 4 times now).

Oh dear, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to clog up the system with a minor bug report! OK, I'll bear that in mind for the future. Glad I didn't start a thread in the bugs forum now!

By the way, do you want to hear about typos and 'in my opinion' peculiar AI behaviour as well? I'm a proofreader, so pretty good at spotting the former.

While I'm here I'd just like to say thanks for a hugely compelling mod. I'm only on my first game but I love all the stuff, especially the modelling of pre-agrarian human life. I can't program for toffee, but I hope I can pay you back in some small way by drawing attention to little niggles.

Typos and grammatical errors in game text - yes please - no reason not to correct them. Typos etc. in discussions on the boards, not really ;)

Have u guys checked on the responses from the IdeaTracker?

Does anyone know why the game usually shuts down to desktop every time I open the civilopedia, civics tab, tech tree or anything similar as well as occasionally for no reason.

That is not a known bug. Post this on the Bugs/Crashes thread along with what version you are using (v25 or the SVN) and a minidump. The minidumps are found in your Beyond the Sword folder.

I haven't made time yet, but once I get some actual modding done, I will update all the ideas I've collected into the idea tracker. That is if I can get it to load for me.

I think I will use the ideas/discussion thread, for the life of me I can't get the ideatracker(or chat) working again. (MrAzure, I could use your help...Please help me!! )
I am knowledgeable enough to be able to figure this out, but cannot for some reason.

I have also been having serious problems with AT&T so I may have to switch providers.

Any ideas that you have please use:
Caveman 2 Cosmos (ideas/discussions thread)
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=377892
or the appropriate thread. I will get to the more popular ones as my time allows.

I also plan on updating the
C2C-Idea Inspiration and Organization
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=464235
to keep an updated list of all reviewed ideas. (as soon as I help Dancing Hoskuld with Stone Age events)
Please feel free to draw attention to the best ones there so we can have an ongoing prioritization list.
