CCM1 (epic mod)

jlvfr, as I know by your posts, that you are playing other very good epic mods for C3C too, your praise of CCM in my eyes has a very high value. Thank you very much for your kind words. :)

:blush: no problem, you earned it.

- By building one of the precious later small wonders, that need a special strategic or luxury resource in city radius like the National Aluminum Mine, National Uranium Mine, National Rubberplantage, National Oilfield or National Coal Mine, that all offer a direct connection via airtrade to your capital. So it´s mostly a good idea to leave these SWs unbuilt on your own continent in case you need a direct trade-connection on another continent to your home-continent. The same option is offered by the SW "International Port".

Gotta try these then. I have to admit that I'm facing a situation that I never had, in all my civ years: to arrive at a latter stage with little luxury resources and no happyness-related wonders. Not one. Every time I was close to building one, another civ made it... it's so bad, every city of 17 or above has at least 2 entertainers. I was very happy to find some gems on another continent by the shore!

Hi, I downloaded this mod wanting a bit of civ 3 nostalgia (but with an interesting mod) after loading the mod and starting a new game I got an error stating that it could not find the settler art file for the japanese settler, I checked the root folder of "nomadic settlers" and only found an ini file in there? I'm re-downloading to make sure there isn't a download error, any ideas otherwise?

Sorry for answering your posts in a kind of hury:

Hun Storm splash is missing.

It´s the splash War Council, that also is in th directory of the C3C wondersplashes. The splash should be included in the current CCM mainfile. If not, copy the splash from the C3C wondersplashes folder to the CCM wondersplashes.

The Japanese settler is included in the PTW extras folders. If you don´t have the PTW Units, you can download them here at CFC and replace the Nomadic settler unit that only contains the link to the PTW file with the downloaded files.

In the next Version of CCM These Problems will be solved even for civers who don´z have the PTW-files as all unit s than will be included without links.

I have the complete version of civ 3, from digging through the default installation I have the PTW files, but they're in a different place to the default civ 3 application (conquests?). DO I need to move/copy some of my files to get this to work?

It would probably be easiest to copy/paste the unit into the CCM Art/Units folder. Good luck, and have fun.(you may find [rarely] other fnf but come back here if advice is needed)

If that's the only unit that's missing that's fine...otherwise this could be an interesting exercise! :D

I've just spent 3 turns destroying 4 italian stacks, of around a combined 500 legionaires...

I kid you not...

For some reason, Italy (down to 5 cities) built nothing but legionaires. But I allready have Chieftains and other modern units. It's pretty much what saved me vs this horde; even then, and even at 3 attacks per turn, it took my tanks (and my marines, paratroopers, artillery and alpine corps...) ages to kill them... I was going cross-eyed...

Hazem, I watched your video with interest and your epic defense battle against your rival civs. When I´m seeing what happens here in deity, I´m happy with playing in emperor level. :) Good luck -so I don´t know if this will help you in your gigantic fight.

May be Italy hadn´t access to saltpeter or horses.

I hope So .. But I am in another critical situation which is the fact I have no coal ressource haha while I have 2 oil... I hope my engineeres and investigators will discover a coal ressource soon.. or Maybe with some luck I would Capture it from France.. Thank you for such a good job

Any news on the progress of CCM? Perhaps a look at the evolution of the modern era tech tree? I know version 2.0 will still be some time away but the screenshots and hints of new changes are very interesting.

Hi Toni, there is not so much to tell about the progress of CCM. :) Far more than 1.000 units were added and some new unit-lines were created with the focus that these units should be used by the AI - but this can´t be seen a lot on the screenshot.

Attached is a screenshot about the current situation of the CCM-techtree in era 3. The planes and V-weapons are not added yet to the next version of CCM:

I have one suggestion for this tree: shouldn't Totalitarism lead to Comunism/Fascism?

And a request, if at all possible: switch the French tank, from the S35 to the B-1bis. It was the iconic tank of WWII.

Keep up the very good work! :goodjob:

Sehr schön! I like the progression and evolution of the unit types throughout the tech tree. It does look as though you can possibly construct a Tiger before a PzKpfw II? It will be great to see the different unit types interact and how the player and computer will utilize them. Another feature I enjoy from both your games is the way that units have customized civilopedia pictures that add variety. Keep up the great work! edit: (x-post with jlvfr :))

Thank you very much for your kind words. :)

Of course the iconic French tank and a lot of others are in the next version of CCM. Attached is a screenshot of era 3 for France (for other civs there are mostly other important units in the techtree). Unfortunately I can attache this screenshot only temporary, as I have nearly reached my upload Limit at CFC.

Edited: French Techtree era 3 removed due to reaching the upload limit at CFC.

Tony, the techtree is a little bit more tricky to force the player to some tougher decisions about research. You can´t build a Tiger tank before a PzKpfw II as a German player. When the player can "build" the Tiger, he can´t build the PzKpfw II as the PzKpfw II is obsolete by the PzKpfw III, that can been built with the same tech as the Tiger. But the Tiger can´t been built normally as it is autoproduced by the Heavy Tank Factory (jlvfr, this is the same building that autoproduces the B-1bis -but with a different tech, as that tank was available earlier than the Tiger).

In CCM era 3 the Player has to decide, if he takes the quicker way to better tanks [Blitzkrieg and only medium Bombers or the way with weaker tanks, but better ships, strategic Bombers, autoproduced special troops (paratroopers, moutain troops, marinecorps, Foreign Legion and so on) and better air-defence].

I need the tech in that place so the units that are going obsolete with that tech perform well in the game.
