Well, it turns out that I didn't read the description carefully before signing up. I missed the part that said '960' 
I've never played 960 before, so it will certainly be a learning experience

oh hey Dell, I had the settings set for minimal games =1, I edited this to zero so you should be able to join now if you couldn't before.

It's fun, it's the same as chess with funky starting positions and somewhat weird castling. You can view the starting position on the tourney page. Hmm, looks like quite an interesting one! Hoping we can get at least 15 or so by Sept.

Yeah. It looks like I'll have to buy a membership. Also, the popups are getting bad for non-premiums so that's extra incentive for me to bite the bullet.

That's annoying, I've noticed they're a bit more irritating than when I first joined a couple years back. At least on CFC you just get the banner on top & the adsense below. If you do go premeium be sure to join my Bird opening tourney also!

I still haven't talked to Erik, Narz. I couldn't afford it anyways. I'm barely surviving living on my own. I'm glad I was able to join this tournament at least!
