OOC: I think we should see if Perf is allowed to do his charm spell and if it works before just paying the guy upfront

OOC: Too bad perf but this is why I asked the spellcasters only to choose only the spellbook spells. You guys don't have any spells to cast just yet. You will have to go through this "test" without using magic or weapons.

Also remember guys that Barmen are really difficult to attack. They may look like nothing menacing but they are a lot more powerful than you guys are. They often are masters of magic and have the city guards on their side.
To be the keeper of a tavern in these lands you need to be experienced and a tough fellow.

So for now you cannot charm the barman.

IC:

Glappo: You you try to charm the bartender, but since yesterday you got troubled by your "encounter" you forgot to memorize you spells.
So you try to cast it without really knowing the spell.

*You start by looking straight in the barman's eyes and start mumbling mysterious words while doing big gestures with your hands.*
*The Barman lookes at you puzzeled by your spell casting. He starts laughing at you and tells you "What the hell was that ... your trying to charm me? Sorry Prettyboy but your ramblings don't work on me!"

*The rest of the "party" laugh at the fact that you were unable to charm the barman*

OOC: Ok Cata. The glass of water did not cost you anything but the water was brownish and served to you in a dirty mug.

Scottish Goblin's barman: Glad to see that its not only pennyless beggars coming in here tonight.
So you want to know where McAle is!
He told me that 6 travellers should be coming in and asking for him. He told me to direct you towards Feldepost's Inn, he will wait for you at the front door.
He also told me to give this to the first one that would give me 10GP to get that info.
*The barman gives Nicolas/Cata a unidentified ring. It looks magical but you don't know what it does exactly.*
That is all he told me.
Now leave me be I have customers to serve.

OOC: Cata gains 2000 experience points And 1000 for Truronian for his succesfull pickpocketing.

OOC: Since you guys were all together (exept Truronian) I will wait for all of you guys to react before getting to the Inn.
You guys were just talking together about Mr. McAle and suddenly 2 of you leave without notice without knowing what Cata's information is. Imagine that is real life ... Oskar sigur and Nicolas would find it very weird and rude for you 2 to leave like that !
The barman did not speak to all of you. If a NPC speaks to the party it will be mentionned.
But now the info has been given to Nicolas/Cata only.

anyhow As I mentionned before this is a relax game, no need to rush to post.
I just happen to have a boring day at work today so I was able to reply promptly to all the posts. Ususally I should post a little less than today.

Also that is just the start of the game, when chapter 1 starts the party is going to be able to move freely without my constant supervision. Now im blocking the party from doing whatever they want and I direct them exactly where I want.

And no worries Captain2 ... you will have your glory days !

BTW everyone I announce officially that Captain2 will play a NPC character. Not any NPC ... he will play Vladek Maus. (and I think you will have a truly evil NPC there ! he's already practicing his evil laugh!)
Abaddon will play Imoen, the party should encounter her soon enough!
