CFC Minecraft Server -- World 5

mcMMO isn't that good, compared to the minecart thing.

This map looks really, really good. I mean, I want to play on it. Can I just check though:

*I'm not allowed to build where I like
*I have to join a town in order to build
*I have to build within the limits of said town

Is this right?

It's right. Take a look around Kan. I'd love to see you in in any way, your participation is always wanted. And even if you don't become a citizen of my town, please take a walk in Sunrise Hills - we've really put effort into it, including a surface harbor, a crane, a ship, a small town by the waterside, huge, mighty walls, a clocktower, deep mines, a tavern and a, if I may have the vanity to say that, very well-designed prison with dark, cold corridors and hopeless cells.

(I'm really proud of my work on the prison. ^^)

*I'm not allowed to build where I like

You can build where you like, but you are limited to the following block IDs: 1,3,5,13,14,15,16,17,18,21,27,28,50,54,56,63,65,66,68,73,74,79,86,87,88,89

*I have to join a town in order to build
Yes, or found your own

*I have to build within the limits of said town
Yes, these limits expand the more population the town has.

Which blocks are those? I'm pretty poor with numbers.

*I have to join a town in order to build
Yes, or found your own

How easy is that to do, for one single person just wanting to create stuff?

*I have to build within the limits of said town
Yes, these limits expand the more population the town has.

That's excellent! I don't recall how well that worked in the previous worlds?

Item ID list: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Item_id

It is currently about 25000 geld to found a town, however I am sure there are those who can drop some cash, and killing mobs brings a good bounty as well.

Kan, go to the nether, kill pigmen. Earn thousands.

Not only that, kill ghasts and get up to 2760 gold! Pigmen can drop up to 1160 gold, too, as well as the usual cooked pork, but they no longer drop iron and diamond.

And my mushroom farm is working. :)

EDIT: I'm currently working on my sandstone apartment. It will consist of 5 floors (including base), 3 of them will contain rooms, the top one will contain a outdoor pool and some trees. I've also driven up the price of sand from 300 gold a stack to about 550 gold a stack*. :p

*stack: 64 sand

EDIT 2: I just got a skeleton to kill a creeper, but music discs aren't recognized in the shop!

sendos there goldrecord and greenrecord thats the name they use in the shop or /shop list 8
@croxis this sponge thing isnt working if you place a sponge it will act like its still there even after you remove it which is really sucking for my town can we maybe go back to the old sponge mod which was redstone powered i believe

Creating Views

Tectonicus can generate first person views and insert them into your map so you can showcase your buildings or discoveries.

A generated view

These are done by placing signs with text on them to label them as views, like so:

#view
Your view description

The text #view must be the first thing on the first line of the sign. The rest of the text will be used as the title for the view.
Views are generated from the direction the sign is facing. You can also adjust the height and view angle like this:

#view h10 a135
Your view description

Here there are two values: 'h10' shifts the view up by 10 minecraft blocks. This can be useful to get a birds eye view of a structure. It also lets you bury signs underground out of sight. Negative numbers also work here.
The 'a135' sets the elevation angle (how much the view looks up or down) to 135 degrees. This can be any number from 0 (looking straight up) to 180 (looking straight down).
The example picture is made from '#view h10 a135', which puts the camera 10 blocks up from the ground and looking down slightly.

Thoughts on an "official" texture pack? While it obviously can't be enforced it may help with team/town projects if everyone is seeing the same thing.

I like using my texture pack.

Although an official texture pack would be interesting. Some painterly pack variation could work, for example.

the rules of the war between Petoria and the Confederacy are as follows
each nation gets up to four chunks since we will be using the towny war mechanic to win the war the other team will need to conquer each others chunks this fisrt part of the competition is for building the fighting starts in 2 days at noon PST
no using: wolfs, obsidian, water (to protect from tnt) movecraft (except to move stuff to the bases once the battle starts no movecraft),and no building over y100 or below 65 (press f3 to see height) and definetly no mod/admin powers

Petoria wins my default
