CFC Steam Group

Anyone wanna play some L4D/L4D2 with someone who admittedly might need a bit of shepherding?
Sure, I have L4D2 installed, just talk to me on Steam.

Odd, I'm on several Civ groups, yet it only shows me as having one friend who plays Civ. I take it that Steam doesn't look at the members of the groups I'm in.

It would be silly to list stuff from all the groups you are in, just check those groups for group stats. And maybe try adding some more friends.

I was talking it over with CG and we're considering a possible a CFC Left 4 Dead 2 verses game

if enough people are interested that is... we'll work out a date sometime too

Scamp...

Ummmmm, this is a bit uncomfortable...

Scamp? Didn't you, um, tell Methos?

Yeah, Methos... we've been meaning to talk to you...

:D

So guys, I've basically run out of space on my C Drive hard drive partition, which is where all my Steam games are.

Would it be possible to transfer all of my Steam files to my H Drive (with 365 GB free, 120+ GB will be taken up by Steam if transferred), without any problematic consequences such as save game wipes or somesuch?

After all, I do want to install STALKER without uninstalling any of my other games.

You can move all the game data in steamapps just fine, not sure how you tell Steam where its now located though.

You can try installing STALKER onto another partition then perhaps.

If you are running Vista/Win7, you can move the entire folder somewhere else and then create a symlink to the old location.

I just up and moved my entire folder to my external(250gb) didn't have to make any new shortcuts and didn't notice anything with my save games which is odd

Yeah, I found out in another thread. Now the question is what does it mean? What's even more hilarious is one of my friends is someone that I don't even recognize.

Yes. I have a Mac and run Windows on a Bootcamp partition, which very quickly ran out of space. What I did was copy Steam over to the external HD and then rename the original so that Windows won't look at it. Then go to the Steam on your external HD and delete the ClientRegistry.blob file (it could be ClientServices.blob). Either way, its the only Client?????.blob file.

On the external HD run the Steam exe file, the first time it'll fail and give you an error message. Run it again and you'll see the ClientRegistry.blob file be created and then Steam will start right up and be ready to play.

I've noticed no speed issues, or any other problems.

I don't think Bigfoot really posts that much anymore. Might be worth getting a mod to update the OP, or have someone more willing to keep it updated start a new thread?

Is it just me or has the Steam servers been borking out lately. Can access the communuity pages via Steam page and Firefox yet friends listing is down as well as achievements disabled (Saw the message while on Gmod looking at the console)
