CFC Steam Group

EDIT: Does anyone want a game of Left 4 Dead? Capmaign, I hate versus. I'm going to start one soon (in about ~30 minutes)? Tomorrow i think i want to play one as well (between 11am-2PM PST).

Campaign is a lot more fun to me, I mean, if I want to play a FPS against other people, I play something else than a game sold as a coop game. I found the infected to be barely controllable, and playing as the survivors to be a PITA and really tough. I added people to my friends' list, people that I met playing L4D early on when I got it, and now whenever I click "join their game" I end up in a versus game. They all switched to versus.

It's hard to join friends in a game though, most of the time, games fill up quickly. You pretty much have to plan it in advance.

Huh? I was on for a while last night and don't remember any trolling.
This was way way late into the night, well after you left and well after the regulars have left (by that time, there were only four people on the server).

We really need another CFC Group night. Anyone up for one a week Saturday (22nd Feb)?

What game? TF2 or L4D (If it's L4D, I dont have it, yet. Along with searching for a pair of cheapo mics since I do have a mic jack right next to the headphone jack)

TF2, because you can have more than 8 people playing in one game at a time.

I hate versus anyways.

As for mics, I plugged mine in the sound card (it is a headset so it is also my speaker set), the cord is still long wnough for me to move 3 or so feet from the desk without using all of it (and it uses about 3 feet or so just to go up from my tower behind my desk and over the top towards my head).

Every time someone in my Friends list starts playing Left 4 Dead, the "join game" option never lights up. It's rather hard to start playing with friends unless you plan it a bit ahead or start chatting about it. It just goes against my "on the whim" sort of style of deciding to play games, hehe.

They may not have started or joined a game. PrinceScamp seems to have this wonderful habit of starting one up and then inviting folk via chat. I feel guilty if I don't, so by all means do it to me sometime :p

Yes, I feel incredibly guilty whenever I'm playing and I can't join Scampi's games because I don't have L4D. (Also when my internet connection isn't letting me play online gamez like last night. Frig.)

PrinceScamp has sent you an invite to play Left 4 Dead
Kan' Sharuminar: But I'm trying to get the hang of Mount and Blade!
PrinceScamp: :(
Kan' Sharuminar is now playing Left 4 Dead

Honestly, if he ever complains about me missing an update in my AAR I shall be pointing to such invites. But to be fair, it was some of the best Left 4 Dead games I've played

Okay, so I'll invite people more often then? Let's just make a pact to not be offended when people don't accept the invitation, that way we won't hesitate to send them out ;)

Well of course. It is, after all, just a game.

Send me a request if anyone makes a TF2 Steam group, I'll gladly join!

I don't recall making a puppy face, I was trying to get you to buy M&B :p And yes, it was an awesome game of L4D, too bad the server disconnected on the last level's load screen, almost had No Mercy beat on expert!

What happens is I have set up a game lobby, and click the invite button (which opens my friends list), I just click on the little arrow buttun next to people's names and click on "invite to game" and then OK to the box that pops up and then goes away. They recieve it in their chatbox. Most people just ignore them, but I do get replies like "homework, don't have l4d, cleaning, don't have l4d, and let's not forget don't have l4d".

If my main complain with Mount and Blade is that there is little variety in the "quests" and things people ask you to do, what mod would you recommend? I find that in vanilla there's very little reward in doing anything. I went on a campaign with a king and we captured a few cities and castles, that was the furthest I went with one character. It was sort of fun I guess, but I've phased out. Don't get me wrong, I love open gameplay and sandbox games and I root for them, but there's something bleak about the quests and the rewards you get for them in vanilla.

Also, I was surprised when I first played the game that it wasn't a full world like Oblivion, from the screenshots I'd seen I expected it to be like that. Turns out it has a world that's more like Fallout 1 and 2, with a lot less details in each location.
