Ok, so I played it earlier. Kind of frustrating turn and I didn't really get us anywhere. This makes Borealis up and I see she just got up in SP6 too. Sorry. :duck:
Pre-turn: Not sure I agree with some of these cathedrals. I switch Tientsin to rider. I dont want to waste shields in Xinjian or Nanking so I leave them. You didnt leave me any gold to work with. Should have traded more gpt instead of giving away all our gold. Id like to rush a settler in JG but it will have to wait for next turn. Ill also try to get some of these spearmen upgraded. Change scientist in Hangchow to tax-collector. We wont be getting any techs at 40 turns. Give Chemistry to Korea for WM, Printing Press, and 2 gold. Couldnt get any better deals on the world map. I buy Gems from Babylon for silks, WM, 8gpt, and 1 gold. Its a discount because well hook up dyes in a second, so they would have charged a lot more if I waited a turn, since it would make 3 happy faces instead of 2 in our marketplace cities. Lowering the lux slider to 0 will save more than 8gpt also. Maximize Xinjian for growth. We probably should have set up a worker factory because a lot of our cities are smaller than they should be at this point.
Ok, Arabia has a source of saltpeter between their cities, they just need a culture expansion to connect it. Itll take a while to get there with all the jungle, but I think we can take that source easily. Ill need a settler though because the Arabs have 3 times our culture and its a helluva lot closer to their capital than ours.
Ugh getting Yakutsk (Arab iron city) is going to be hard. Lots of mountains to move through to get there.
IT: Blah Korea takes Amatikulu from the Zulus which closes the gap I was going to use to get to Arabia. Oh well they better not try to kick me out. Babylon and Zululand sign a military alliance against Korea. Damn I hope they dont take out Korea before we get to them.
350 AD (1): Tientsin rider->rider. Chinan founded next to dyes/iron.
IT: Zulus ask for MA vs Koreans and RoP. I decline.
360 AD (2): Beijing rider->rider. Canton harbor->rider. Chengdu aqueduct->rider. Jacks gambit settler->granary. Pusan switched from temple to granary. Oops forgot to turn lux down last turn, down to 0% now.
IT: Grr Wang Kon is going to be an ass about moving through his territory. I dont want to sign RoP because we need to kill them in 10 turns. Yay the Zulus recapture Amatikulu giving me a lane to pass my riders through.
370 AD (3): Zulus, Koreans, and Babylonians have Banking. I mined a couple plains tiles at Beijing and its up to 35spt now (riders in 2), too bad the GA is almost over. Well they must have built a settler or something because Yakutsk is down to size 1 with unexpanded borders now. :/ I guess Ill get it in the peace treaty.
IT: Korea kicks us out of their territory again grr.
380 AD (4): Nanking cathedral->rider. Ouch I reach the Arabian city target and the Celts seem to have been attacking there already. Theres 7 Arabian longbowmen waiting for me. Temple rushed in Chinan.
IT: Korea and Arabia have signed a military alliance against the Celts. This is going to be a full world war soon. Celts, Zulu, Babylon and China against Korea and Arabia. Korea tells us to leave again, theyre almost tempting me to declare war on them, peace treaty or no peace treaty. Damn Arabia kills 2 of our riders.
390 AD (5): Xinjian cathedral->rider. Beijing rider->rider. Chinan temple->courthouse. Tientsin rider->rider. Anyang aqueduct->rider. Temple rushed in Pusan, didnt realize it needed culture to grab the silks.
IT: Arabia drops a longbowmen off in our territory.
400 AD (6): Pusan temple->granary. Arabia will talk now. Theyre insulted when I ask for Yakutsk, their iron city in ex-Russia. They will give us banking for only 15gpt though. I really think we need to take that iron source. If we do techs will cost us practically nothing for the rest of the game. Second dyes hooked up. Zulus and Celts dont even have 1gpt to offer. Babylon will give 8gpt. Blah that sucks. Its not worth even trading it to them for that so I dont.
410 AD (7): Chengdu rider->rider. I buy banking from Zulus for Dyes, WM, and 620 gold. Beijing, Tientsin, Nanking, and Xinjian switched to banks.
IT: Babylon and Zululand sign an MA against Arabia. LOL Nanpo switches hands 3 times. First the Celts capture it, then the Koreans recapture it, then the Babylonians capture it. Thats good because thats the city the Koreans kept kicking my troops out of.
420 AD (8): Damn Macao riots. With all these luxuries I wasnt expecting that, it had a marketplace due in 2 turns. Woah I discover 2 stacks of Arabian troops. One has 7 longbows and a spearman, the other has 5 longbows and a pikeman. Kind of scary. My riders are taking forever to heal without a city to rest in. I have 11 riders ready and 5 more still wading through the jungle, along with 2 pikes and the settler. War weariness hasnt set in yet. We should probably buy spices off the Zulu when it does set in.
IT: ARGH!!! An Arabian longbowmen pops out of the middle of Korean territory, kills our pikemen and captures our settler. That totally sucks, it took 7 turns to get the settler that far. Zulus complete Copernicus Observatory. JG switched back to settler. Man by the time I capture these Arabian cities it will be time for war with Korea again.
430 AD: Just troop movements, lose a rider to a spearman on grass.
440 AD (10): Our Golden Age has ended. Were back down to 158gpt from 248. Macao marketplace->bank. JG settler->barracks.
Ok heres what I was trying to do. I was trying to raze Mansura and Fustat and place a city on this blue dot:
I was leaderfishing with my front-line riders while waiting for reinforcements. I think I got 6 elite victories but no leaders. Theres now a stack of 12 riders outside Mansura which should be able to capture it, assuming Arabia doesnt counter-attack with 200 longbows between turns. We have tons of gold and tons of gpt so we have the freedom to rush units/buildings and buy techs easily. We do want to get banks in all our core cities though. But always keep at least a few cities producing riders.
Also the FP is due in 1 turn. We need to get that second core up and going quickly. I suggest turning Pusan into a worker factory, IE keep it below size 7. Then join the workers it builds into our new core cities, or keep some to improve tiles if you need to as well.
We're only down optional techs - Monarchy, Music Theory, and Navigation.

edit: I see Borealis is up in LK45 as well ouch. I wouldn't rush to do this one. Cgannon skipped his turn and both Aggie and myself played quickly. Take a few days if you have to.
