Might I suggest a sickly radio-active green with black or purple as the undead pallet?

If the Archons are going to resemble Christian Rome, their standard should certainly be a crystal dragon.

I'm not sure I find those ... the most ideal
for demons I find that red/black could be one dominance.
for lemuria : I find the red too flashy for a "sleathy" civ : green-black instead or green/grey ?? or: Half grey/black Half green ....and an orange paw :D
the color you've given to vodnik are very reminiscing of Baleseraphs... might not be the good feeling.
elves : green/white? or lightgreen/darkgreen
vodnik : pale blue/purple ? (or pale blue/orange) (too much red in the purple/orange flag : orange is red+yellow/ purple is red+blue... much red... much aggressiveness)

your dwarves seems a bit too warlike and ambitious with regard to Pawels' description

... well... I don't have your grid so I might be wrong..

Red doesn't always mean war, it just is a synonym for physical strength. Also, I intended for each colour to represent all shades of itself as well.

@Irkalla: Let me know if you're going to work on the icon for any of the civs, then we can discuss its colors and symbol in detail :)

@Magma_Dragoon: The symbol on the page you linked to looks good for the Archons indeed :)

The next one I was considering working on was the Orcs.

I was considering including the elements of:

A vertical war banner, in this manner.

and Greataxes.

Hmm, I wonder how you're going to combine these :)

One of the colors should be red because the long name of this civ is going to be "Red Horde". About the other color, orange might give not enough contrast with red - I thought about black, perhaps it doesn't fit the emotions I listed for them, but it fits them being generally evil...

Logo, something like this? Been working on making the weapons look rough and well-worn.

I like that idea, but man, the Axe having a longer handle than the hammer throws the whole image out of balance and punches my OCD in the face repeatedly.

I like both versions, the length of the handles isn't important to me :)

Black on red are inverse Barbarian colors, which I think is good, as they will have similar units as the Barbarians (like Clan of Embers in FFH).

Yeah, that looks great. Also, thank you for making the handles roughly the same length. I don't know what it was, but something about the version with the shorter handle made me feel like the whole image was going to fall over.

I updated the top posts, there are 10 civs listed there now. For the last 2 (Demon Worshipers and Death Cultists), I need ideas, so if anyone has some concepts about these civs, please post them here (preferably in a similar format as my descriptions of the civs in post #3).

I'm still working on promotions. I decided to make Mounted Archery units a separate combat class (using an existing class - UNITCOMBAT_GUN - so the animations are played). I'm going to modify the civilopedia code, so it displays which promotion is allowed for which combat classes - I think it will be helpful in understanding my promotion system.

Generally I think it would be a good idea to make the civilopedia information and tooltips about the game elements generated automatically according to the database content instead of using arbitrary text descriptions - it will save us some work and decrease the probability of errors, as a situation where the actual effect is different than the description won't be possible. Are there any mods where it's already done?

Demon cultists, like demons, live in a lawless libertarian society (Do as thou wilt) held together by an all powerful, all terrible Infernal Pontiff (His Unholiness).

Like America, but without all the trappings of false piety :mwaha:

Excel at making gold, but poor culture. Though they do tend to attract a certain kind of person to their ranks... bonus to great merchants? I'd like to see some kind of human sacrifice mechanic. Maybe a land unit that has the prize ships promotion, and the unit can be taken to a city and sacrificed for a chance to summon a powerful demonic unit.

I would say the "His Unholiness" trope has been done. I'm trying to come up with a compelling leader. Give me a day or two.
