Hi again! I know the mod surely isn't optimised for multiplayer, but did anyone ever try to play this as a multiplayer modpack? With only the balance patch, EUI and this mod?

I tried playing this in multiplayer but it ended up reloading after every second or third turn making the game virtually unplayable in multiplayer. Is there any reason/fix for this?
 
Try to update your video card's driver, and installing / reinstalling DirectX. Let's hope that will solve it.

Thing is, all of this started around the time I updated to the latest beta for Vox Populi and the latest versions of CID, RTP, ExCE and CD.
 
Plagues feel a bit too weak. I might want a second opinion on this, since I can't help but compare them to the old, instant starvation plagues, but they certainly seem weaker, almost ineffectual.

Hah! Well, turns out plagues somehow broke and the extra Food citizens consume isn't working. Can't wait for Civ 6 and I don't have to deal with this sort of thing again (*hah*).

Admiral, assuming you did it correctly, I highly doubt it would work well. Due to the programming nature of the mod, some functions and features do not work well (or at all) in multiplayer. I'm certain it could be made to work, however you should expect that to be a solo endeavour, as JFD has enough in his plate. I would recommend you try to port his Civs over instead, they will work.

Remember the simpler days? Back when there was only Piety and Prestige? :p

Also, that promised bug report? Not coming as the issue resolved itself upon reloading.

For some reason, certain aspects of this mod I can't used. Like I can't make colonies, there's no patriotism meter and I don't see the status of my cities(like a state). Also, this is going to Cultural Diversity, but when I use a civilization of a certain culture, their unique ability doesn't show up. Is there a reason why this happens

After extensive testing, the only mods that I'm having graphical errors with are ExCE, RTP, and CID: the only three that require the CP. Cultural Diversity is working fine. It's not just R.E.D. that had a problem, I tested with Ethnic Units too. So now I am fairly conviced this is being caused by a bug in the latest beta and therefore shall humbly go beseech Pope Gazebo.
 
What mods are using? Are you using EUI? Include your logs. Without additional information, it's nigh impossible to understand what's going wrong.

And your logs? Do you know how to do those? Google search if not. With a mod list this long, unless JFD knows which mod is causing the problem, the logs are key. Lua and xml logs are the ones needed I believe.

Stopwatch is also a help, but I'd be placing my money on HRE being the problem.

Please see the OP about how to enable logging, and also provide the Lua log. Also, make sure you're using the latest beta. It is hardly an exaggeration to say that, 90% of the time, people with game-breaking issues are not using the latest beta.

Also, a lot of the mods that you're using are out of date, which is never a good idea, and is probably why CulDiv is not working for you. Especially, you'll want to update the India pack.

I too cannot purchase units with shackles. Using the latest beta and CID v.43.
Same with me, trying to purchase a unit gives this in the Logs:

  • Colonies may now be set to begin at the colony list, instead of with New X, where X is your Capital. See JFD_CID_COLONIES_DISTANCE_CORE_NEW_CAPITAL.
  • Fixed an issue wherein Slaves could not be purchased.
  • Colonies now begin with Harbours when founded by a Colonist.
  • Fixed an issue wherein Plagues did not cause Citizens to consume an extra Food.
  • Fixed an issue wherein unique Constabularies and Police Stations would not reduce Crime.
  • Could not find an issue with the Cistern/Aqueduct from Tradition Fin. It might be a misunderstanding of the effect - you get 2 Cisterns and 2 Aqueducts, not 4 of any combination. I've clarified this in the text. It may not be ideal, but is the easiest to implement.

Yup, that'll explain the Tradition problem. I'd always presumed that it would be the first 4 cities would get either an aqueduct or a cistern, depending on whether they've got a river or not.

Never noticed it until now, thanks for the fix. Now empires all over the world will feel the wrath :mwaha:
