Cities in Development (Obsolete)

That sort of thing sounds like indeed you'd like Sovereignty, as there's definitely some censorship reforms (press and speech, IIRC).

Yeah it seems like Sovereignty will deal with all of that stuff. Though does CID deal with ideologies in the meantime? Or have they not been yet been re purposed for the mod? I would love to try this mod out into the late game and see how all of the mechanics play out in the end :-).

I have one last essay on Buddhism and its interaction with Bhutanese nationalism. Thereafter, hopefully I can put that to good use and make my Bhutan civ :D (if King Sukritact is feeling generous with some Tulku-power and Lord Chancellor Jan returns for a moment :p).

I see, I wish you good luck with that! :)

Btw, latest crime changes look really good at first glance, it feels more flexible, tho more testing shall be needed (organized crime change is also interesting).

Btw, when will health and plague be introduced? This seems like a great mechanic, and I'm almost more excited for this concept than for Sovereignty :P, though both are equally awesome.

Yeah, it's a shame there aren't any good AT civs out there. The few I've seen are just cookie-cutter boring stuff. I should just stop being lazy and learn how to do anything here, heh.

Well, the best way to get something you want is to make it yourself. :3

Although reading up on Mir again made me start thinking about how I'd do an Ar Tonelico civ, so I might do some random brainstorming for it. Although I've got at least two other civs to finish first... XD

I almost feel like they'd require a total conversion mod, just slapping on some random song magic system would feel incredibly out of place...
Hm, I should actually think some more about this, there might be an idea here.

You need to make sure you update to v3 of Events & Decisions.

It'd be difficult to tell which audio specifically caused this CTD, unless you can remember a specific Building being completed just before it crashed?

Btw, when will health and plague be introduced? This seems like a great mechanic, and I'm almost more excited for this concept than for Sovereignty :P, though both are equally awesome.

Not sure - but it's Health & Happiness :p However, Sovereignty's been in the works for some 2 years now, Kesler's been biting his nails to the bone. "The time has come," the Modder said. Plus, with Sovereignty available, it'll be a lot easier to balance things like Crimes, Loyalty, Provinces, and Health, because instead of just hypothesizing that it can be a source of balance, we can put it to practice.

Is there anything, that the Citizens could do to help the Emperor's work?

I would definitely be willing to put the mod to practice :-).

Oh, v3 released, I didn't notice.

I loaded autosave and made some screenshots:
First was taken just after loading:
Spoiler :
civcid1.jpg

There is only one building that is in about to end - Library in Cardiff city. Also, in Truro, Citizen will be born in 1 turn (and there is also sound after birth, right?).

Second taken 2 turns after first:
Spoiler :
civcid2.jpg

Leonardo's Workshop is in about to end, some border expanded too.

And guess what, no CTD. No sound error in logs. Maybe it was because of birth sound? (It's a random sound, after it right?)

Also, I noticed this:
Spoiler :
civcid3.jpg

This Great Scout hadn't possibility to found a colony, and when I embarked and back to land, he was still in the ship.

In previous game that crashed, that Great Scout was still travelling by the ship (and before that he wasn't able to settle anywhere, no button). There was second Great Scout that had that button. Also, I had a Great General to the North-East, he had a "found Fort Colony" button, but was greyed out.

This time I came back to the sea and then to the land, and poof, settle button is back. (I was reporting problems with no settle button that could be related to embarking in Exploration Expanded thread some time ago)
Second Great Scout that had a button in crashed game, still had it in this game.
Great General had finally active found Fort Colony button.

And what happened with these Scouts? That one which was bugged (ship on the land) found a City to the south of Edinburgh, not a Colony:
Spoiler :
civcid4.jpg

Strange, because it was 17 tiles away on small communitas map. Maybe it broke because I canceled building and hurried a production of Monument by spending a gold just after I settled?

Anyway, second Great Scout (that one that had an active button in the broken game) found a Colony to the west of Edinburgh:
Spoiler :
civcid5.jpg

In this case after I found it, I closed a city screen, go back and then canceled building production and spent a gold.

New game, CPP 2/2 Beta, updated Events and Decisions, CTD around similar era that previous one.

Again sound error, and it was while AI turn (Mongolian), I think just after he offered me to renew declaration of friendship (I accepted it)

And again my Great Scout settled City instead of Colony :D (and the second one needed to embark the sea and back to land again to get settle button back, the same as in previous game)

Sorry for posting a lot, but I really love your mods, but CTDs dissuade me to play Civ :( It's not even midgame and it crashes :P

I'll look into the Great Scout issue and add some print statements to catch any colony names that might be failing (there are too many to comb through it manually).

I'll be running some AI games to coax out this CTD. How do you know that it is caused by CID? In the meantime, I'd recommend turning off the Building construction sounds in the user settings to see if you can get through a game without this error.

Ok, thank you.

I don't know, firstly I thought it was because of WHoward's Units - Population mod, reported it to him. I turned it off anyway.

Then I thought it was because of your RtP (Piety) mod (see this report), then I turned it off and played with CiD and these errors appeared that I reported in this thread.

Maybe Wonder Planner causes this, I turned it off and started a new game.

But with pure CPP there aren't any problems, but without your mods it's not the same game :P I don't know how to find what mod causes these CTDs. I'll try to turn off sound buildings as you said.

Hey JFD, I am trying to follow the installation instructions for the CBP but when I go to the Override folder there is no 'Enhanced User Interface for CBP' folder to copy and paste from.

I think this may be why when I use this mod with the CBP I get a bug where when I settle my first city the city view is messed up and there are no production options and I can't exit out of the city view.

That folder only existed for maybe two days for a quick fix some people needed for the modified EUI that CBP was using. Since the Feb 1st beta CBP is using the current official EUI version, which JFD had made compatibility files for prior already and is currently still using. So if you have problems, make sure you're using a beta version of this month of CBP if you want to use CID with it past v18.

Oh, sorry, I left the CBP instructions in the OP, but as of the latest version of both CID and CP, these are no longer needed. Instead, you should follow the instructions for installing the regular EUI. Let me know if you have any trouble with that.

No longer needed, but if I already copied them from Overrides\EUI to Overrides, could they cause problems? :P
I think I misunderstood, Dallandra said that there is no 'Enhanced User Interface for CBP' folder. But there is 'Enhanced User Interface" folder and it's needed to copy all files from this folder to 'Overrides', as I always do, right?
