Anyone think we should get the old Citizen Honors system running again, or no?

Not unless they actually mean something. In the past, those responsible for citizen honors simply passed them around to each other for having helped with citizen honors. It made the entire thing ludicrous.

We'll have to bring back the old system, the one Disorganizer proposed in DG1, but maybe flop it around some.

In the orginal system it was sent to poll and then approved by the president. I say we send it to the senate instead of a poll and then have it approved by the pres.

Shouldn't this thread go in the Citizen's sub forum?

It was orginally suppose to, but I got the wrong sub-forum.

Thread is now in the Citizens Forum. :)

eyrei's assessment is dead-on though. If we are going to pursue this, the Citizen Honor should have genuine meaning to it.

I am interested in helping Strider with the Honors.

I beleve we should use medals from the French Military :).

well, they might come in handy for braging rights in elections

I believe that these should follow some procedure such as this one:
1°-Any citizen proposes to grant an honor to another citizen in a thread with this specific purpose.
2°-The proposal is passed in Senate vote
3°-If it passes, a discussion thread is opened for citizen input
4°-A poll is posted for all citizens
5°-If the proposition passes, the citizen is granted an honor.

(the point of the second step is to keep "unreasonable" proposition away from opening threads)

I'm thinking more like:

1) A citizen must nominate the person, say which honor, and why. (No self-nominations are aloud)
2) A second citizen must second the nomination.
3) The honor goes to a poll in the senate
4) If it passes the senate, it goes to congressional poll.
5) if i passes congress it is then passed onto the President to accept or veto the honor.
6) If the president accepts the honor, the citizen in question is rewarded the honor.

Also, there is no point in really having them. There just (kind of) fun. The only point to them really, would be (as stated above) elections.

The awards could be:

La bravoure dans le Combat (military affairs)
Le Grand Scientifique (science affairs)
Ambassadeur (foreign affairs)
Négociation (trade affairs)
Percepteur (Domestic)
Diriger Justice (judiciary)
Interne (anything not covered with an other honor)
