City Art + Improvements

I just think it would be cool if every civ had their own city art and improvements. I'd be interested to find out what everyone else thinks.

i think that's the plan eventually. however, i rather like tha changing city art.

I think it's good to see which civ has which religion but I also agree that civ-unique cities would be even cooler. There certainly however should be something to reveal the religion, not just temples. Might be because I like the OO graphics and if all use civ-related then those would be lost, as Lanun have a pirate-like style and Balseraph cities are more like carnivals.

So dwarves keep their stone huts but they paint them green&blue in celebration of their new religion, ummm.... what if the city graphics gradually evolved while having religions so having OO for a really long time shows and then switching to RoK will need some time for the change to happen.

cityset based on religion is a placeholder, it will be will be based on the civ in a near future.

I know that but will any of the OO art be kept?

i think that city improvements would need new art too because it would be kind of wierd to see say a nice looking infirmary in the middle of a Balseraph city

Of course, if the trees are just one kind of houses. Nobody says that they have to be buildings.

At least the OO mana nodes look good, with the chains and all.

personally I rather like the religion specific city art, especially OO, and think there's nothing wrong. It's nice to have, for instance, your entire civ actually look evil when you adopt the AV. It'd look kind of silly if you were, say, elohim with nice shiny houses while you were running the AV.

But it's those people in nice shiny houses that are the most *eeevil* bwahahah. Think "The Stepford Wives".

the current religion changing cities are just a placeholder for when civ-specific cities are added later, just added to keep the cities from looking too stagnant until changes can be made. I'm not entirely sure, but I think this was addressed awhile ago.

lol When I play AV I always think the general public isn't really involved. It's not them that worship the veil really its their power hungry wizard overlords. Besides, untill the peaceful Elohim countryside is over run by demons I don't see why the veil couldnt be worshipped secretly. The people would still live in their nice shiny houses, I don't see why, because the veil has spread into their lands they would all spontaneously paint their houses black lol.

That's true, the Ashen Veil is worshipped only by a small minority of the people. And as Cassiel's 'pedia entry shows, you don't need to paint your house black and red to worship demons. But I still like the OO mana nodes
