Wrong, read my post over on page 2 of this thread, last post on the page. It does work, as I am playing it right now.seven21 said:Game will not load with latest Blue Marble and patch!! Also tryed it with a different user on a clean version with the same result.
I decided to try uninstalling, deleting all directories, re-booting, re-installing, re-applying patch and trying again.

I really want to play the GOTM, but not so much that I'm willing to go through the hassle of reinstalling everything.

Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Sid Meier's Civilization 4. The Windows Installer cannot continue.
at first I was a little hacked off at this, but the patch continued running anyway and Civ reported being Version 1.09 when I next loaded it up.... so I assume it updated ok.

syneris said:Create a new user and install civ4 in a different location for that user? If you installed "for all users" when asked at installation, you may have to do a bit more work. I have multiple users I use for different things (with customized desktops and fav's, etc for each), and often have 2-3 of them logged in at once unless i'm gaming. I haven't tried multiple installations of the same game on different users, but it shouldn't be a problem.
