[CIV 5 Issues] - The complete list

I heard that it is not possible for modders to create buildings which bring unhappiness.

Maybe this possibility should be included even if fireaxis does not plan to use it?

(I hope this topic has not been mentioned, yet)

Not sure if this was already said or not, but horsemen, (especially companion cavalry), are overpowered. It's a nice change from cIV to actually be using mounted units for once, but they really need to make them more balanced. (I think there is a thread on this)

Also:
- Diplomacy should be improved,- even if you don't want to use solid numbers like in cIV, at least let there be conversation options such as "Why do you suddenly hate me so much?). And please explain the secrecy/cooperation pacts in the civilopedia!

I think an attack penalty against cities ought to be implemented for the horsemen unit. I found out from my first game that I can easily take any cities early on that is not located on a hill and have no walls. Usually with 3 of them is sufficient for the task even if they had been bombarded with stones coming out of the city, and an archer garrisoning in the city.

CIV 5 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS POOR. The computer really has a problem in understanding my might and city-states are useless in my opinion (plus they ask for stupid things sometimes even if they are far far away). They just bring a little touch which is nothing compared to all the things that are missing from Civ4. The major problem with the AI is that computers don't fear enough and give too much when it's already too late for them.

The AI is the worst thing in this game

No matter what I do, I can't seem to generate a great admiral. I'm stuck with useless generals on land only. This needs to be fixed. Playing as Ottomans the only bonus is on seas, so I need my admirals.

I don't think a great admiral is needed. Just take your great general with your navy!

Yes but how can a general lead a navy? I'd be lucky if they know how to swim, let aside operate a rowing boat or caravel.

I guess the same way The Great General Eisenhower did for World War II. He told the admirals what to do, and they did it.

But he did need admirals to do so at first place. :)

Civilization III was the first civ game i played. I really enjoyed it and it really felt like i was building an "empire". I was surprised to discover that so many people back there used to complain about the infinite city sprawl, which, while might not be the greatest feature ever with all the corruption and stuff, at least made it for a frantic game from the start.

Ok, so came civ iv with all the restrictions for building lots of cities, but hey, we still could build lots of units...

Now we have civ V with restrictions to cities, units and even roads(!!!). It's so hard to believe you are really controlling a global empire (be it economically, militarilly or culturally) for me now, i am not sure i want to play civilization anymore.

And also the game pace seems to be slower at each new version. For the first 50-60 turns (10% of a game at regular speed) nothing really relevant seems to happen, unlike civilization 3, where you could be wiped off should you not take care.

Sorry for my english...

You don't have to read every post like I normally always do. The OP says it all and then some. Yes the OP has errors like no list for military units but it also hits pretty much every single problem with Civ V. Great post and deserves the sticky. I am very happy to see on the 2K forum that this list was taken so seriously. I just hope they get to everything on the list. Great job.

I have to second almost everybody here, please fix (make in fact) the IA.

It's just aweful, and it keeps doing stupid things

for users with no right mouse button game is very friendly, there are menus for move and anything else but there is no option to dismiss some messages or policies choosing

Exactly. And i did some time before someone came with this "tactic". Which alot felt was a exploit. Tried it myself once, and still it was fun. But normaly, i think most of us went with a OCP kind of game or RCP.
But ICS surely wasn't a easy thing to do properly, you still had to use any trick of the book; whiplashing, settler-pumps, the way to deal with enemies ; it all depended on it.

Now, it's pretty straight forward to do a 'sling-shot". There's not much to it. It's all too easy.
