Civ 5 not loading past intro movie...

Finally downloaded from steam (after 14 odd hours..)

Everytime i try to load it crashes on the intro movie?

Ive tried both direct 11 & 9, both the same.

Ive checked all system requirements, and they are all above what is needed..

Anyone have any ideas??

Please provide some details about your PC hardware (if you don't know how, then please follow these instructions).

It might already be worth the try to skip the intro movie (how to see here).

I have the same problem (which, incidentally, I never had before... even after the latest patch).

Skipping the movie doesn't help, it seems to have trouble loading what comes after the movie i.e. title screen etc.

Then i'd suggest that you check in the steam library the integrity of the local files. Maybe something got somehow damaged in the meantime.

Well the easy solution was just to uninstall > reinstall. Now it works perfectly.

Let's hope it's just a one-off.
