For those of you who don't know, a Diplomacy Game (Diplogame for short) is a forum game where everybody takes control of a civ in an ongoing multiplayer pitboss game and we roleplay our actions and diplomacy as the game progresses. There is a turn timer of 24 hours so the game will continue to progress in the case that someone gets a little busy. Every month we all anonymously cast our votes for who wrote the best stories that month. The person at the end of the game with the most points is the winner. There are of course more rules to deal with the logistics of running the game that I won't bore you with now, but basically the game is workable and fun!

Any interest? For a fun game we would probably need 5 or more players. We can discuss the map/scenario, civs, difficulties, and rules and such later. Requirements to play will probably be all Expansions+DLC.

I'm interested (because both your previous demo games were fun; pity the Realpolitik of the Smoky Skies died so quickly.)
Additionally, I strongly suspect that many of my fellows in an ongoing Pitboss worldbuilding effort would be interested as well; I'll tip them off to this.

Awesome! Most appreciated! When/if a few more people show up with interest we can start talking about specifics! The great thing about a game like this is that I can play along with everyone else :)

I am interested in this. I have all DLC (Complete Edition) and I just finished hosting a Diplogame on Apolyton called "Domination of Barbarians". Here is a link to the Diplogame Forum if you want to check it out... Lasted 2 years.

Apolyton is great for Diplogames because you can have anonymous accounts for posting stories. Ive participated and hosted in a bunch of the Diplogames in the "Do" series over there and was planning to host the latest one as the first Civ 5 Diplogame when I noticed this thread.

If you want to host the game at Apolyton, I already have a bunch of Anonymous Diplogame accounts set up that we can distribute to our players in this game. If you want to keep it on Civfanatics, I am still interested, although I think anonimity really adds something to the game...

I would also like more players and to try playing on an Earth Map, but frankly Diplogaming will be fun regardless of the map. I am open to anything that will be fun.

In any case, PM me or respond here. I am really excited about a Civ 5 Diplogame!:D!!

Me as well! I do not thing there is much of a demand for such a game here and would be happy to join one on that site if you get it up and running! I can host the game, but not until mid-May. I can however, as a player, start the game at anytime.

I am also interested in this.

Sounds fun although, I assume this will work out to be 1 turn per day? Otherwise the logistics would get quite awkward, but I would love to do this(especially with summer just around the corner!)

Interesting it took so long for this to find potential players. I am still very willing to do this if we can get a few people on board.

In my experience it does work out to 1turn per day, but I suppose it's entirely possible it could be more

I would happily host a Civ4 Pitboss, but since the Civ5 Pitboss requires Steam to be both installed and running, I cannot host it on my server and would have to use my desktop computer that I am using for quite a lot of other things (Steam would not allow me to be logged in on both computers at once). So I will have to pass on hosting a Civ5 Pitboss, I am afraid. I have no idea why Firaxis thought their redesign of the Pitboss in Civ5 was a good idea, but I can definitely say that I think it was a lousy design decision they went with compared to the old Civ4 Pitboss.

I would volunteer to host the Civ 5 Pitboss, however I am already hosting for another game (Pitboss Worldbuilding Challenge). I would play a Civ 4 game, and could host a Civ 4 pitboss game. My only reservation is that we can't seem to get consistent support. There was one response when I first posted, then a month later two, then 15 days later two more. Maybe this can gain a little more traction if we move to the Civ 4 forum?

*brushes away some cobwebs and blows some dust off the thread pages*

Anybody here?

I would definetly be interested in this. I am around more often now because the summer is starting to die down. So I am in if you will take me :)
