CIV Gold!

pectopah, install the Firaxis patch 3.17 for BTS. You can do this in the game by going to Advanced in the opening menu and then Check for Updates (or something to that effect, I don't have the game on the comp I'm currently on).

Patching BTS will resolve all of your CIV Gold problems.

It seems I am not able to get BtS to work. I still wanna play CIV Gold though, so is there are version for only civ4? I've had a quick look, but can't seem to find anything.

I have a question to ask, will these Gold civilisation intergrate along side with the current BtS civilisations so all non-mod and modded civs can be played in a game?

So on the civilisation selection list all moded and non-moded civilisations are availibe (except for duplicates)

Yes. Any civs from Gold that were later added by Firaxis were removed. In other words, the Gold version for Portugal in the vanilla mod was removed from the BtS version when Firaxis added their own Portugal.

If you have BtS and download CIV Gold for BtS, you'll get the 90 Gold civs + all the Firaxis civs. No duplicates.

HELP WANTED

Hi all,

I'm posting this in a couple of places so that I can get a quick response.

By this point, I hope that most of the community is familiar with CIV Gold. If you're reading this in the project forum, then you obviously are.

In any case, two Gold releases - 5.0 and the Nature of Man - were slated for completion in the summer. The two primary resources, however (Fierabras and me) had overwhelming personal issues to address, and as a result the work has been delayed.

I've organized myself well enough to conitnue on but Fierabras will be taking further time away. In light of this, I am seeking support, both in project development and XML writing. The mods are both close to completion so we are not looking for weeks of commitment, only a few days.

If you are interested, post here and drop me a PM.

Cheers,
Wyz

I can't get this blasted installer to work; I think there's a corrupt file in it: It keeps bombing out on trying to write Canada_Peace_Future_Intro.mp3, and interestingly the log says it only gets 98% fished with Canada_Peace_Future.mp3. And I know it isn't a free-space issue.

Edit: Okay, actually it was a free-space issue, just not in the traditional sense. You'd think there'd be a way to tell the system not to stash tempfiles like installers on C:, what with C: being FULL...*muttermumble*

Just wondering based on the problem you had. I just installed a new hard drive and decided to keep it partition-free for that reason. Some programs will use C: for temp files even if using D: / E: whatever as the install location.

Considering it takes too long to load Civ Gold, and I would like to play Revolution with Civ Gold, how do I go about adding the civilizations in Civ Gold to the base civs?

So I'd like to take 30-50 civs from Civ Gold, and move them into standard game play so I can load the Revolution Mod from there, and play.

Thank you in advance.

It would take a small amount of work, but I'd say the best way is to just move the Gold civs into a copy of Rev. IIRC the only work would be a little XML tweaking.

Alternatively, you could just wait for me to finish CIV Diamond, which will be a Rev/NextWar/Gold merger. ;)

How long until you think CIV Diamond might be completed? What is NextWar?
