Civ on a Server(RDP, Terminal Services)

Hi all,

I'm getting a server in at home, but I'm not upgrading my laptop. Hence I will be installing Civ4 on the server.

Rather than interact directly with the server I'd prefer to use some remoting technology to play Civ from my poor 5yo laptop leaving the processing to the server.

Has anyone experience of doing this over RDP/TS, citrix or other similar such tech?

Ill see what my dad will say of this, The company where he works is owned by citrix so he should know

Cheers stickciv, I've worked with Citrix, but never played with it.

I reckon it'll be down to the frame rate/resolution required, but I can't get figures on it.

he has no idea but what i would try is to link up the server and laptop, and then through the network create a shortcut to civ 3 on the laptop and run it like that. I think that it should work but you had better have a really, really fast connection between the server and the laptop.

No, that would be a really bad idea.

In the end, Civ IV doesn't run on Windows Server 2003 anyway, so it's not an issue.
