Civ Quiz I

That's why I explicitly asked for land units.
I buy you a beer for this idea rolo :beer:.

Edit: Bob gets a beer from me too for tossing out the correct number of "2" (but unfortunately lacking a valid explanation) :beer:!

I can do it with 0 land units :p

( and some planes in a fort )

I demand to win this :D

Dan has lost control after handing over the "power" to me. I refuse to accept your demand :p

And I could also do it with ZERO land units, but I thought it would be too roundabout a way to do it and so wouldn't be allowed.

Congrats bippukt :thumbsup:, sorry Juju :(!

IMO it's funny that the peaks within your culture are able to "look" over the hills and forests.

So ask away bippukt!

Yes, it was interesting. Otherwise, we would one more GA for one more border pop.

And this was your easy question :eek:...don't ask a tough one then, otherwise :blush:

Question following in the next post. Rest assured that it will be a really easy one :)

Sorry, but that answer is not correct, DanF :D

Lawyering a little .....

:cool:
Just a quick and easy question, because it's actually bed time for me now:

How many land units do you need to fogbust this 11x11 forested island with the 4 peaks and 9 desert hills?

Spoiler :
CivQuizFogBust.jpg
( bolded and spoiler are mine )

Can you point me where it is written that you can only use land units ? :D

Shame on you, dan... being a person that knows how to program well and missing this kind of logical quirk :p

What is the maximum number of turns needed for a unit to heal? And what is the maximum number of initial HP that will take this many turns to heal (eg if either 21 or 24 HP are possible, 24 will be the answer)?

Do mention the condition when this takes place.

CLARIFICATIONS/ASSUMPTIONS:

-If many such situations are possible, you need to mention only one.
-Please don't tell me that your unit is moving, has plague or what not.

The question is not a trick question. It is a simple database question :)

rolo: quirky indeed - I would win this law suit :p

I thought the same, which is why I answered that I did not any ANY units, any at all; just a few well-placed cities, even better than you rolo :p

9 turns, a unit in enemy territory with 9/100 HP or less?

I'm pretty sure I've seen longer. 19 turns, 4 HP or less? *edit: should add, in enemy territory, obviously.

phew I'm glad I'm not right I just realised I need to play civ instead of asking a question anyway ;)

rolo + Juju: well the/my real problem is not the way machines think :borg:, but the way (some deviant) human minds do ... ;).

@danF

"unit" != "land unit"

Now you understand? :p :D

BTW, can you give a look to the bugs forum? There is one fresh for you :p

In light of this, if you consider:

I can do it with 0 land units :p

( and some planes in a fort )

I demand to win this :D

Bad command or file name. Please ensure that you have typed correctly and retry.

Also:

assert (isFogBusterAirUnit(fogBustingUnit) == FALSE);
assert (isFogBusterNavalUnit(fogBustingUnit) == FALSE); ;)

lol, that's not what my game's code says...that would probably have been part of the code that DanF would have used to frame his question if he had to do it in a programming language. That's what you meant, right?

Please say yes :D

BTW, you got it all wrong - it meant that it had to be checked (asserted) that the fogbusting unit was neither a naval nor an air unit. If the assertion failed, the program fails, ie the answer is not accepted :spear:

I admit that my choice of naming the functions would probably get me fired if I were a software engineer. Wait! I am a software engineer! Um...am I? :hmm:

How many Spearmen do you need to kill a Tank?
rolo: 0 - I take 2 ICBMs! :p

fair enough - move along people, there is no quiz question here to be solved, please move along!!!

In case anybody is confused, the latest question asked (by me) was:

What is the maximum number of turns needed for a unit to heal? And what is the maximum number of initial HP that will take this many turns to heal (eg if either 21 or 24 HP are possible, 24 will be the answer)?

Do mention the condition when this takes place.
